woman, “Let one who is sinless cast the first stone.”

The pitfalls of some members are not the end but are considered opportunities for spiritual renewal. They are the growing pains of a Church still in the process of purification and development.

The heart of Jesus is forgiving. Thus we are called to humble ourselves, ask forgiveness for the hurts we have caused one another. Jesus is asking each one of us to have an understanding and forgiving heart, slow to anger and long in patience. His heart overflows with love and forgiveness. Let the love of Christ grows in our hearts so that His love radiates through our kindness, humility, and forgiving nature.

Jesus Christ embraced poverty and feels for the poor, the suffering, the sick, the sinners, the outcasts and the underprivileged. Christ said He did come for the just, but for the sinners. He has true compassion for the hurting and the least of His brethren. He did say that whatever we do for the least of His brethren, we do it to Him. Isn’t that what true compassion means?

Monsignor Dennis Odiver said in his homily during the June22-24 PREX Seminar for Batch 30-12, “Our God is a very forgiving God. Our God is not a God of wrath. He is a God of love. He is not a vindictive God. He is full of compassion and empathize with how we feel. Christ taught us to love even our enemies.”

Christ said that when we make an offering to God and remember we have a quarrel with a brother or sister, let us first postpone the offering, reconcile first with our brother or sister, then make the offering. That way, our heart is pure and worthy for the act of offering.

Christ also said that no man had greater love than the one who offers his life for another. That is what Jesus did for us. He offered His life for us on the cross. When He died, Christ’s love for us is beyond death. He instituted the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist so that He can be with us in body and spirit when we receive Him in holy communion.

This June we celebrated the solemnity of the Eucharist and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Let this month reminds us to follow the ways of Jesus, so forgiving, so generous , so meek and humble of heart.

June 2, 2012. during the Parish Pastoral Council meeting, where Msgr. Dennis Odiver showed to the group the Schedule of Activities for the month of June at the same time explained the importance of the Flow-C to our parish and its projects. Msgr Dennis also explained in general the meaning of tithing and how it is to the Catholic Church.

Social Services ... in full swing ... from page 1

It is the objective of this Livelihood Program to empower beneficiaries not only with management and production skills but more importantly with values and vision that will drive the business onto higher grounds. From July to December of 2012, the four groups will be guided through production, selling, managing not only of the business but more importantly of their finances.

Some people may think that four weeks of formation is too long but for those who have experienced how to set-up and manage their own businesses, four weeks are not enough. Businesses do not come about to succeed overnight. It takes a lifetime of learning and actual experience to gear up towards success and everything starts with appreciating one’s self for the kind of “human package” that the Lord has designed one with. Unfortunately, not everyone is aware of his or her distinct “human package” that is rich with God-given gifts of talents, skills, values, experiences and inclinations.

On Saturday – June 30, the livelihood participants will be dipping their hands into production and shall commence selling same day and the following day. Every week thereafter with the permission and support of SAAP’s Parish Priest Monsignor Dennis Odiver and the SSDM, this same group together with their facilitator shall together produce products and sell in the Parish every Saturday and Sunday.

It is a common vision of the volunteer facilitator and livelihood participants to turn this program into a social enterprise that will not only provide a regular source of income that would uplift the lives of beneficiaries but would generate jobs for other Shepherding members. With the commitment of participants, hope is bright that all four enterprises will be legally registered by January 2013.

We look forward to the support of Parishioners by patronizing the products of the Livelihood groups.

St Thomas MoreFeastday: June 22Patron of Lawyers

St. Thomas More, Martyr (Patron of Lawyers) St. Thomas More was born at London in 1478. After a thorough grounding in religion and the classics, he entered Oxford to study law. Upon leaving the university he embarked on a legal career which took him to Parliament. In 1505, he married his beloved Jane Colt who bore him four children, andwhen she died at a young age, he married a widow, Alice Middleton, to be a mother for his young children. A wit and a reformer, this learned man numbered Bishops and scholars among his friends, and by 1516 wrote his world-famous book “Utopia”. He attracted the attention of Henry VIII who appointed him to a succession of high posts and missions, and finally

made him Lord Chancellor in 1529. However, he resigned in 1532, at the height of his career and reputation, when Henry persisted in holding his own opinions regarding marriage and the supremacy of the Pope. The rest of his life was spent in writing mostly in defense of the Church. In 1534, with his close friend, St. John Fisher, he refused to render allegiance to the King as the Head of the Church of England and was confined to the Tower. Fifteen months later, and nine days after St. John Fisher’s execution, he was tried and convicted of treason. He told the court that he could not go against his conscience and wished his judges that “we may yet hereafter in heaven merrily all meet together to everlasting salvation.” And on the scaffold, he told the crowd of spectators that he was dying as “the King’s good servant-but God’s first.” He was beheaded on July 6, 1535. His feast day is June 22nd.
