For those people who live along Hillside, Harwell Lane, Harbourneford and Stidston and those living within our parish to the south of the A38 and for those people who live in Aish, Didworthy, Shipley, Zeal, Lutton and in the farms and small communities that border the moor. For all the activities that take place in the Village Hall.

So it’s the end of the year – no, I am not a month too early. This Sunday marks the end of the Church’s year. We

have spent the last 12 months reflecting on the birth, teaching, death and resurrection of Jesus, and this Sunday marks the end of this journey, before we begin it all again in Advent. So this Sunday is a good time to take stock in some way before we begin the journey to the stable and beyond. Soon the message will all be about the baby in the manger, the shepherds and Kings – the gentle, comfortable story that we all know so well. But today, Christ the King Sunday, reminds us, before we enter into the time of nativity plays and carol services, that Jesus is so much more than a baby lying in a manger. Before time began, Christ was King. He is the Word through whom creation came into being – He is King over all created order. He is King over our world, in the here and now. He is King for the future and all eternity. This King gave Himself for us, and became a vulnerable baby lying in a manger. He did not have a palace – He was a refugee as an infant, and had no home as an adult. He had very little in terms of earthly possessions – just the clothes on His back which the soldiers drew lots for when they crucified Him. The sign they put on His cross said “The King of the Jews” – but it was wrong – He is the King of all the world and died for all of us. What an incredible truth this is.

The question for each of us this Sunday is – what is our response to the claim that Christ is King? Do we recognise Him as such and will we let Him reign in our own lives?

Plant Quiz in aid of the St. Petroc's Flower Festival

Today (24th November) is the final day for you to return your completed plant quiz, either directly to me, or placed in the designated box at the back of the Church. The amount raised will be announced next week, and the answers to the quiz will be available at the back of St Petroc's.I do hope that you have enjoyed the challenge, whilst also raising money for the St Petroc's Flower Festival 2020.Mary Andrew

Pre-Christingle Preparation Get together

There are a number of candles to be prepared, plus stars to be cut out in readiness for the main Christingle preparation day which will take place in the afternoon on 21st December (T.B.C).
