Video games

My favourite video game description. fun, strategic, challenging, where many people can

join in.

Explain how video games can have a negative effect on attitudes to gender and situation

conflicts. Video games can make people become sexist if the game is abusive to a certain

gender, it could cause them to become more aggressive, and if they were in a conflict

situation then they could take a inappropriate or aggressive action towards it and it can make

it worst.

how internet and technology has helped understand the world mobile phones and the internet enable

people to use the internet or find the news portably.

Facebook, online mail, twitter and other mail sites have enabled me to communicate with friends from

around the world and far away from me.

Which are your favourite television channels and why?

ID Crime investigation interesting and fascinating to see how crimes turn out and why

Kerrang! Plays rock music and interviews artists whos music I enjoy listening to

ITV Has (an had) a lot of good entertainment on in the evening times, i.e. Im a celebrity get me

out of here!, red and black Comedy Central shows good and classic funny programs like Friends. Also shows comedy tours

such as Michael Mcintyre and Lee evans

Horror Chanel Has a wide range of good horror movies to watch in the evenings

My 3 films that I found outstanding

1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (The original) 1, 2 and 3 Based on true story about the 1970s murder, of 4 hikers who go to visit

their grandparent. Some of the effects and tactics such as the camera angles and movie techniques add suspense and thrill, the

soundtrack of the film provides a atmospheric and weird sense to the film.

2. Saw The film series delivers a gruesome yet entertaining theme as it displays a mans revenge amongst people who harmed

his family and himself through a series of Games. Each person is put into a game depending on their personality or what

they have done to harm, then they have to fight for their life, sacrificing family members of parts of themselves to live. The

performances from the actors present a mysterious characteristic such as Jigsaw (played by Tobin Bell)

Feature films (The final cut)

The Ring The ring is a psychological thriller/horror which bases on a storyline of a girl who was

killed by her mother and then hidden in a well, this was mysteriously found by these crime

investigators and as it is watched, the viewer will die in 7 days if they do not find the daughter and

solve the crime. The way the deaths start are by events that go wrong around them, and in the end,

the girl will eventually come to haunt them till they die. The effects used make the film memorable

and outstanding as the use of suspense through colour i.e. dark/ black and white colouring, the idea of

the tv turning on when it is unplugged to the video at unexpected times. These effects give the film

more suspense and also leave the viewers startled but yet stays in with then in their mind.

How to I prefer to consume films At the cinema or at home on the tv.

Which is my favourite cinema Odeon in Norwich. I like this cinema because it is comfortable, it is

surrounded by other places to go i.e. restaurants and other entertainments after (or before) the film. It

is well priced and good quality seats for the film.

Do I prefer watching alone or in a group mostly in a group.

Have I ever contributed in a media production? Yes I have made short videos in my

mean time of music and funny videos with friends.

The Conclusion

Media that has most offended me? Racism, sexism, and violence

The most interesting or exciting media text I have seen or heard would be media texts about theme parks and

rides as they use exciting, bold and colourful texts and techniques to get you interested in the theme park.

How has media text altered the way you think about the world? In some media texts such as in music, in

certain videos I have seen artists show how the world is going wrong, and how what people are doing on one side

of the world, is causing to the other. This has altered my attitudes towards the world as it helps me realise that

the world needs to be changed to suit everyone in the world.

The Conclusion (continued)

Media texts have also altered the way I think about the world and surroundings around me in a different way

because of the news. The media on the news makes me think of the world in a different way as it shows me what

is going wrong in different countries that our country may or may not get involved in. It also makes me see the

world differently as on the news they show crime that has recently happened or an investigation that is continuing.

This makes me think differently about the world as it makes me think how dangerous it can be and that there

needs to be change against crime and punishments should be harsher for the worst of crimes.

If I WAS TO CONSTRUCT A MEDIA TEXT WITH A MESSAGE THAT MESSAGE WOULD BE ABOUT

HOW THE WORLD IS FACING DANGER FROM GLOBAL WARMING, WAR AND TROUBLE IN 3RD

WORLD COUNTRIES. THIS WOULD SHOW ANYONE WHO VIEWS IT, HOW THE WORLD IS

BECOMING UNFAIR BY US AND MAKE THEM REALISE THAT THEY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO

STOP IT FROM CONTINUING.

The conclusion (final part)

Why have I chosen media as an option? I have chosen media because I find it fascinating

learning and using what is being used in the media world, and also learning how it works,

tactics used in films to make good films, and that I have always found it fun to work around

the media, analysing and making our own productions through research and creativity.

Why I liked these clips?

The ring opening scene I liked this clip cause it is eerie how the tvcomes on when it isnt being

operated. When she unplugs the tv, she goes to find it is on up stairs and it creates a physiological

horror about it which stays with you through out the film

The Ring Samara and the tv I liked this clip from the film because there is tension and it is fast

paced as Naomi tries to get to Noah as she realises about the video tape and that Noah is next to die,

this makes it heart pounding as in the end she is too late and Samara reaches Noah before Naomidoes.

Why I liked the clips (Part 2)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Mad hitch hiker I liked this clip at the start of the film as the

hitch hiker creates a enigma and also odd characteristic about himself as what he does and says

to/with the other people. It also opens him up as a character as you wonder who he really is until you

find out in the end that he is working with leatherface and the story starts to come together to why he

is that Mad.

The Texas Chainsaw massacre The escape I enjoyed the final scene of the film as like The Ring,it creates adrenaline and builds up tension as they are trying to escape and as Leatherface and the hitch

hiker is chasing them, more and more people get involved and you feel as if they will get caught in the

end.

My Favourite clips (Final cut)

saw 3d Horsepower trap I liked the trap in this movie as it stars Chester Bennington (Linkin

Park front man), and that also the way the trap is set, all the pressure is on him to save himself, plus

the other 3 members of the trap. The way it is also set is that as he escapes from his part, more and

more tension is added as it puts you on the edge of your seat to see if he really makes it or not.

Saw 1 Amandas Reverse Bear trap I liked the way this trap was laid out in this movie as it is

seen as a classic in the saw films as it was also used on other people after Amanda. I also liked ithow she just got the bear trap off of her just before the trap closed, - this tactic makes leaves you

shocked as she just managed in a matter of time to pass the trap.
