Flexijet4architects is a new, revolutionary BIM measuring system (BIM - Building Information Modeling) whose diversity enables fi rst-time users, all-rounders and specialists to create an ideal measurement.

“Measure-drawing“ with Flexijet4architects

Measuring, drawing and modeling altogether in one working step. With the ARCHICAD AddOn and the fl exible and laser supported 3D measuring system Flexijet recording of an object-oriented building measurement is possible - a Virtual Building™ model.

The system consists of a tripod, a tilt and swivel unit and the laser distance meter Leica Disto. It is set up, switched on and oriented in the room.

Built-in tilt sensors calibrate Flexijet auto-matically. The nodes are aimed at by rotating

and tilting the laser by hand or motor-driven with a radio remote control.

easiest activation of the measurement

The measurement is activated directly on the device, by pressing a key on the notebook or via remote control. The digital pointfi nder of the laser distance meter which has 4x zoom and a high resolution 2.4“ colour display enables a precise aiming at distant objects, even in rather diffi cult lighting conditions.

data transfer via Bluetooth

The measured data is wirelessly transferred directly to ARCHICAD via Bluetooth which enables the measurer to move freely.

All necessary tools in the Flexijet programme can be controlled with intelligent commands for the measurement.

During the measurement ARCHICAD creates a 3-dimensional BIM simultaneously, the basis for all fl oor plans, elevations and sections of the building.

Forgotten nodes belong to the past due to Flexijet4architects complete graphic on-site control of the measurement in progress.

Working with Flexijet4architects on refurbish-ments and preservations of listed buildings enhances the reliability of an effi cient planning process and the economical viability.

The follow-up time in the offi ce is shortened to adding dimensions and setting the layout of the plans.

With the help of various 2- and 3-dimensional data interfaces like IFC, U3D, 3D PDF or DWG and DXF the data can be proceeded in common CAD programmes.

This technology provides a new quality for building measurements. A quality neither achievable by using manual measurement, laser scanner and point clouds nor tachymetric measurements with 3D lines.

connection to Leica tachymeter

If measuring large buildings and extensive areas it might be reasonable to complement the BIM measurement with a tachymeter.

The Leica builder series tachymeters are especially developed for outside use and able to measure long distances precisely due to its direct refl ex technology.

During their measurement outside facilities can be created in 3D with the help of open spaces as solids as well as areas and volumes can be calculated. This way e.g. the excavated material on a construction site can be calculated with Flexijet4architects.

The new planning for existing buildings can be shown on site via laser. Flexijet4architects can “move to“ construction markers of the building model on site, e.g. drillings, anchor bolts or marks for cutting.

By clicking on the construction marker Flexijet4architects shows it on the wall or fl oor.

The Building Information Modeling (BIM) measurement is the basis, the centrepiece for all continuative planning phases and the foundation for intelligent data transfer with other consultants.

ARCHICAD‘s BIM technology supports you effectively from your very fi rst idea to the last details in working drawings - including reliable costing at an early stage, as well as the determination of energy demand.

You “build“ a virtual 3-dimensional building from which, in every phase of the planning and construction process, you are able to extract the informtion you need like:

building volumes including the shadow they cast, planning application, working drawings, sections, elevations, quantities, object analyses, detail drawings, animations, renderings, presentations, budgeting, energy calculation or data for a facility management.

All users work with their various tasks on the same building model during the entire planning and construction process.

Flexijet4architects supports the BIM Server™ technology of Graphisoft. This means that while some people

take measurements on a building others are able to work on the same fi le in the offi ce simultaneously.

This creates transparency, avoids superfl uities and improves the economical viability.

The Virtual Building™ model can be transferred to these systems without loss: ALLPLAN, Vektorworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, DDS-CAD etc.

The BIM measurement is the indispensable basis for planning and redesign of existing buildings, as well as refurbishments. Only a few steps enable a simplifi ed “measure-drawing“ of almost any shape of staircases.

Terrain models for presentation drawings are an easy task for Flexijet4architects.

The contours of the site are modeled by measur-ing any amount of nodes. All open spaces, inclined fl oors and sloping ceilings are measured like this.

Distinctive window and door objects can be “measure-drawn“, modeled and used as 3-dimensional objects.

The transfer of objects with all their attributes is possible, for example to FM systems.
