GOSPEL MEDITATION
In today’s Gospel, Jesus instructs his disciples to baptize in
the name of the Trinity. Do you know the date of your bap-

is the day we are born with the promise of eternal life.

TRINITY SUNDAY
Today the Church invites us to pray with the mystery of the
Trinity – which is love. Through the love of the persons of
the Trinity poured out we are drawn in and transformed more
and more so that we can be more fully the image of God who
is love. While our minds struggle to understand, we can sur-
render ourselves in the poverty of our understanding to the
love God who embraces us as children and through the
Spirit’s grace cry out – Abba! How can we live out the love
of our Abba this week?
DOMINGO DE LA TRINIDAD
Hoy la Iglesia nos invita a orar con el misterio de la Trini-
dad –el cual es amor. A través del derrame del amor de las
personas de la Trinidad somos atraídos y transformados más
y más de manera que seamos más completamente la imagen
de Dios que es amor. Mientras que nuestras mentes luchan
para entender, nos podemos rendir, desde la pobreza de
nuestro entendimiento, al Dios que es amor quien nos abra-
za como niños y quien a través de la gracia del Espíritu grita
–Abba! (Padre) ¿Cómo podemos vivir el amor de nuestro
Padre esta semana?

MEET OUR GUEST SEMINARIAN
Hello! My name is Miguel Torres. I re-
cently finished my second year of philos-
ophy at St. Joseph Seminary in St. Bene-
dict, Louisiana. A native of Torreon, Co-
ahuila, Mexico, my family immigrated to
the US when I was 10, and has been liv-
ing in Austin ever since. Growing up, I have always had a
strong faith in God, but after a personal encounter with Jesus
in the Blessed Sacrament at age 17, my life was transformed.
Encountering the powerful love of the Father in His Son
through the Holy Spirit has allowed me to live a life of joy
and freedom, and since that moment, there is nothing that
brings me greater fulfillment than leading others to the love
of the Father. From this encounter, I received my call to the
priesthood: the more I fell in love with Christ, the more I fell
in love with His Church, and the more my heart ached for the
people of God to shepherd His sheep. After two years in sem-
inary (besides many other things), I have developed a steady
prayer life, made many great friends, and learned to fish! I’ll
be stationed in Ascension Parish this summer, so if you want
to talk, I’ll be around.
¡Hola! Mi nombre es Miguel Torres. Recientemente he ter-
minado mi segundo año de filosofía en el seminario San José
en St. Benedict, Louisiana. Nacido y criado en Torreón,
Coahuila, México, mi familia emigró a los EEUU a mis 10
años, y he vivido en Austin desde entonces. Desde niño, siem-
pre he tenido una fe en Dios, pero después de un encuentro
personal con Jesus en el Santsimo Sacramento a mis 17
años, mi vida se transformó. El encuentro con el amor pode-
roso del Padre en Su Hijo a través del Espíritu Santo me ha
permitido vivir una vida de alegria y libertad, y desde enton-
ces, no hay nada que me da más satisfacción que conducir a
otros al amor del Padre. Desde este encuentro, recibí mi lla-
mado al sacerdocio: cuanto más me enamoraba de Cristo,
más me enamoraba de Su Iglesia, y mi corazón deaseaba
pastorear a Sus obejas, el pueblo de Dios. Después de dos
años en el seminario (a demás de otras cosas), he desarrolla-
do una vida estable de oración, hecho muchos amigos, ¡y
aprendí a pescar! Este verano fuí asignado a la parroquia de
Asención, así que estaré cerca si gusta platicar
