I like this design because it is bold and would stand out on the shop shelf, it would catch the eye also. However it is gives off connotations that it is a heavier rock magazine. I like this design because of the stroke marks and it is quite unique, I haven’t seen another magazine use this type of font before. However it again gives the feeling that it is a heavier rock magazine, also it is unclear what the title is at first glance. I like this font because it is plain and simple; many indie magazines now have a simplistic feel about them. However I don’t think this will be bold enough for a magazine title I think I will choose this font because I think it is clear to read and fits in with the target audience. Also with the rough edges it fits in with the rock image I’m trying to portray. Broadca st MainSta These were the options that I came up with for the name of my music magazine. I like MainStage because it implies big music bands and that the magazine is all about music. However I didn’t like it because it could link in with other things such as acting, therefore I thought it wasn’t clear. I also liked BackStage as it again implied music connotations and made the reader feel ‘special’ – feeling like they have back stage access to the magazine, and get important exclusive information. However the name I picked was broadcast, this is because I felt it related to my audience the most, also it looked best in the font I wanted to use for the masthead.
