MARNEBEK WEEKLY UPDATE

RESPECT | RESPONSIBILTY | RESILIENCE | SAFETY

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to another edition of Weekly Update and congratulation on making it through to

week 5 of remote learning.! Congratulations to our students for all the learning and great work

they have achieved over the past five weeks.

As you are aware, school resumes on Tuesday, 26 May and you would have received a letter

giving you further information.

I briefly wish to confirm what this means for our school:

Friday, 22 May—last day of remote learning in term 2

Monday, 25 May—student-free day in order to support all school staff to prepare for this transition

Tuesday, 26 May—onsite learning commences for all students

The first priority at Marnebek School remains the care and safety of all within our community. To support the health and

wellbeing of all our students and staff, our school will continue an enhanced cleaning routine and will encourage frequent

hand washing and good hygiene practices. We will communicate a detailed plan on how we proceed early next week.

I wish to thank you all for your continued support during these challenging times. I very much look forward to greeting all of

our students as they return to our school on Tuesday, 26 May.

Kind regards,

Jennifer Hamilton

Principal

TEACHING & LEARNING IN MIDDLE SCHOOL

It has been fantastic to hear all the success stories working in our remote world this term. Students have been completing weekly challenges, completing online and hardcopy work prepared by our dedicated staff. Staff have had great support from families and have taken this journey of remote learning seriously. There’s been lots of com-munication over the past 5 weeks between families, teachers, and education support staff which we will be endeavouring to

continue when we return.

Christina D’Souza – Middle School Coordinator

I would like to say that it has been a pleasure being able to connect with so many families during this difficult time. It has been great to see teachers and families bond when checking on student wellbeing and also seeing the resiliency within students when learning to use digital tools such as WebEx Meetings when communicating with their peers and classroom teacher. I

would also like to point out a highlight when seeing student’s complete PE challenges such as the bottle flip with family mem-bers being involved.

John Wigg – Learning Specialist

COVID19 has been a challenge for all, however, it has also provided us with new and exciting ways to provide students with learning opportunities. Whilst some of these resources may not be utilised as much moving forward, it’s provided us with new tools that will assist us in getting the most out of every student. Finally, I’d like to once again say a BIG THANK YOU to all parents and carers for working alongside us during these challenging times. I look forward to seeing all the students on return on Tuesday 26th May. Regards, Chris Murray Middle School Assistant Principal
