Maricopa-Franklin Pierce University Associate-Baccalaureate Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP)

The Maricopa-Franklin Pierce University Associate-Baccalaureate CEP Program is a program offered through participating community colleges in the Maricopa Community College District (MCCD) and Franklin Pierce. A limited number of participants are selected from the pool of MaricopaNursing students who have met all Maricopa-Franklin Pierce Associate-Baccalaureate CEP eligibility requirements and have applied to the Maricopa-Franklin Pierce Associate-Baccalaureate CEP.

All Maricopa-Franklin Pierce Associate-Baccalaureate CEP nursing courses will be taught at the MaricopaNursing program location, Franklin Pierce courses online. MaricopaNursing coursework may be offered in a hybrid format (a portion of classes in person and a portion online.)

About CEP?

1. The CEP allows nursing students to obtain an Associate in Applied Studies (AAS) in Nursing at Maricopa while completing coursework towards the Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Franklin Pierce.

2. CEP students will be enrolled in Maricopa and Franklin Pierce classes at the same time.

3. This educational partnership is designed to assist in meeting the Institute of Medicine 2010 Future of Nursing goal to increase the percentage of BSN RNs to 80% in Arizona by 2020.

4. Students who complete the first four blocks of the MaricopaNursing program and concurrent Franklin Pierce courses will complete the BSN degree within a shorter time frame.

5. BSN prepared nurses are highly valued by potential employers and many employers state ‘BSN preferred’ in posting available nursing positions on their websites.

6. Maricopa-Franklin Pierce Associate-Baccalaureate graduates will be prepared with the expected professional knowledge and skills of the new graduate baccalaureate prepared nurse.

7. Franklin Pierce’s general education requirements meet AGEC standards.
