February is a short month, but February was not short in fun for our middle schoolers. After making blankets in January, our middle schoolers went to the Ronald McDonald House to deliver their blankets and take a tour. It was a rewarding and eye-opening experience. On February 9, the middle schoolers had a guest speaker from A Child’s Place tell them about the progam and they made snack bags for A Child’s Palce1 There was another special guest speaker in February– Tom Kort was also at Middle School Fellowship. Middle School Fellowship is not Middle School Fellowship without some food and games– the middle schoolers showed off some hidden skills during some minute to win it games! Who knew they were so talented?

High School

High schoolers glued food labels and counted box tops for a service project to raise money for the Alexander Youth Network. Many thanks to Sardis' Anne Shoaf for bringing this rewarding service project to the attention of our youth! 3760 points in Campbell’s labels that were sorted and pasted by the Sardis Youth Fellowship High School students. The program that Alexander Youth Network has in Shelby will get to shop using these points. We will let you know what they purchase.

On Saturday, February 8th, twelve High School youth and three advisors enjoyed an exciting day trip to Hawksnest to go snow

tubing. Our adventure began with a lunch break in downtown Boone at the Mellow Mushroom where we celebrated Abram’s birthday. After lunch, we made our way up the mountain to Hawksnest and had an amazing time. There were four tubing areas that the youth could choose from, all offering a different tubing experience. The most exhilarating part of our trip was when all 15 youth and advisors linked together and formed a tubing train. We rode down the largest slope riding all the way to the end. Everyone had a great time getting to know each other and building new friendships.
