Vigilen su corazón!
Oh Dios, crea en mi un corazón puro Renueva en mi interior un espíritu firme.
-Ps 51:12
Esta breve oración, "Oh Dios crea en mi un corazón puro" debería ser nuestro lema. Porque la cristiandad es una cuestión del corazón. Todas nuestras prácticas cuaresmales buscan purificar nuestro corazón y nuestra mente. De hecho nuestros actos externos coinciden con nuestras disposiciones interiores - porque nuestras acciones son la sombra de lo que existe en nuestro corazón. "Primero limpia el interior de la copa y el plato, y luego el exterior también estará limpio ", dijo Jesús. Entonces, las peleas y discusiones constantes o guerras de palabras en nuestros hogares y en nuestras relaciones, nos demuestran el estado de los corazones de los miembros de nuestra familia. Si la enemistad se manifiesta a nuestro alrededor, es una señal de que estamos albergando malicia en nuestros corazones. Si estamos constantemente tentados a engañar a nuestra pareja, si estamos propensos a decir mentiras, si tendemos a discriminar a otros o hacemos comentarios despectivos o raciales, si somos mezquinos o no estamos dispuestos a compartir nuestras posesiones con los necesitados, si las oraciones, asistir a misa o hacer actividades espirituales nos desinteresan, si nos resulta difícil ofrecer nuestro tiempo, talentos y tesoros para servir a Dios en la iglesia y para el bien común, entonces demuestra que nuestros pensamientos son impuros. Nuestros actos son indicativos del estado de nuestros corazones. “Un árbol bueno produce frutos buenos y un árbol malo produce frutos malos” (Mt 7:17). Un católico verdadero es católico de corazón. Es alguien que ha permitido que la palabra de Dios penetre y limpie lo más íntimo de su ser. Como Jesús le dijo a sus VERDADEROS discípulos, " Ustedes ya están limpios gracias a la palabra que les he anunciado " ( Jn 15: 3). Un católico verdadero es aquel que constantemente deja que sus intenciones y pensamientos sean purificados por los sacramentos de la Confesión y de la Eucaristía. Busca libros y revistas espirituales, programas de televisión saludables y actividades espirituales que ayudan a alimentar la palabra de Dios en su corazón. A tales católicos, Moisés les dijo: "Este mandamiento que yo te doy no es superior a tus fuerzas ni está fuera de tu alcance. No está en el cielo, para que puedas decir: ¿Quién subirá al cielo y nos lo traerá? Todo lo contrario, mi palabra ha llegado bien cerca de ti; ya la tienes en la boca y la sabes de memoria, y sólo hace falta ponerla en práctica." (Deuteronomio 30: 10-14). Así que vigilemos nuestro corazón y no permitamos que las preocupaciones mundanas desplacen la palabra de Dios. ¡Regularicemos nuestra confesión!
Guard Your Hearts!
A clean heart create for me, O God, and a steadfast spirit renew within me.
-Ps 51:12 This short prayer, “Create a clean heart in me, O God” should be our mantra. This is because Christianity is a matter of the heart. All our Lenten observances are geared toward purifying our hearts and minds. Indeed our external acts are only as good as our interior dispositions - for our actions are shadows of what exist in our hearts. “First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean”, said Jesus.
So if there are constant fighting and arguing or war of words in our homes and relationships, then, it is telling of the state of the hearts of the members of our household. If enmity festers around us, then it is a sign that we are harboring some malice in our hearts. If we are constantly tempted to cheat on our spouses, if we are prone to tell lies, if we tend to discriminate against others or make derogatory or racial remarks, if we are mean or unwilling to share our possessions with those in need, if prayers, attending Mass or doing spiritual activities turn us off, if we find it hard to offer our time, talents and treasures to serve God in the church and for the common good, then it shows that our thoughts are unclean. The things we do are indicative of the state of our hearts. “A good tree produces good fruits and a bad tree produces bad fruits” (Mt 7:17).
A true Catholic is a Catholic in the heart. It is one who has allowed the word of God to penetrate and cleanse his/her inmost being. As Jesus says to his TRUE disciples, “You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you” (Jn 15:3). A true Catholic is one who constantly allows his/her intentions and thought processes to be purified by the sacraments of Confession and the Holy Eucharist. He/she seeks spiritual books and magazines, healthy TV programs, and spiritual activities that help nurture the word of God in his/her heart. To such Catholics Moses says: "For this command that I enjoin on you today is not too mysterious and remote for you. It is not up in the sky, that you should say, 'Who will go up in the sky to get it for us and tell us of it, that we may carry it out?' No, it is something very near to you, already in your mouths and in your hearts; you have only to carry it out." (Dt 30:10-14) So let us guard our hearts and not let worldly preoccupations crowd out the word of God in our hearts. Let us regularize your confession!

YOUTH MINISTRY
Lenten Supper
This Friday the 29 of March and continue each Friday of Lent various ministries of Sacred Heart parish will prepare and serve meatless suppers in Biedermann Hall.
This week the cooks will be the Youth Ministry & Music Ministry. Come enjoy fellowship, a nice meal and a night free from cooking.
Supper is served from 5:15 to 6:45 pm. Donations go to the St Vincent Society to assist those in need.

Este viernes 29 de Marzo y cada viernes durante la Cuaresma, varios ministerios de la parroquia del Sagrado Corazón prepararán y servirán cenas sin carne en el Salón Biedermann.
Esta semana los cocineros serán El ministerio de la Juventud y Ministerio de Música. Ven a disfrutar del compañerismo, una buena comida y una noche sin cocinar.
La cena se sirve de 5:15 a 6:45 pm. Las donaciones van a la Sociedad de San Vicente para ayudar a los necesitados.
I have been attending LA Youth Day and RE Congress in Anaheim for 16 years now. Every year I think back to my very first youth day. My Youth Minister approached me the Sunday before and said he had an extra ticket and wanted me to go at no cost, a move I would later refer to in my career as the “gateway scheme” where you give teens a taste of a church event for free and they keep coming back for more. I agreed and he told me to be at the church Thursday at 5am ready to go. At this time in my life I didn't even know that 5 am existed but I made it to the church and was told that myself and one other teen who I didn't know would be riding with Fr. O’Sullivan! I was so scared to be in the car with him for 2 hours but it was actually a fun car trip. When we arrived at youth day my youth minister told me I would love the band that was playing because he knew how much I loved upbeat Irish music. When we walked into Hall B I heard the music and I took off for the stage where teens were gathered jumping and singing and praising God with amazing music from Ceili Rain. I was on fire from God from first sound and the day got even better with workshops from Jesse Manibusan, Mike Patin and Mass with Fr. Tony Ricard who danced his way into mass and delivered an amazing, interactive homily of the creation story. Every year I get something out this weekend and never regret going. If you didn't get a chance to go this year I strongly encourage you to go next year, trust me, it is worth it and then some! Upcoming Events: March 27-Youth Group March 28-No Edge
He asistido al LA Youth Day y al Congreso Religioso en Anaheim durante 16 años. Cada año pienso en mi primer día de Youth Day . El ministro de jóvenes, se me acercó el domingo anterior y me dijo que tenía un boleto adicional y que quería que yo fuera sin costo, un movimiento que más adelante denominaría en mi carrera como el "intriga de entrada" donde le da a los jovenes el sabor de un evento de la iglesia, gratis y siguen volviendo por más. Acepté y él me dijo que estuviera en la iglesia el jueves a las 5 de la mañana, listo para ir. En este momento de mi vida, ni siquiera sabía que existían las 5 am, pero llegué a la iglesia y me dijeron que yo y otro jóven que no concia ibamos ir con el Padre O’Sullivan! Tenía tanto miedo de estar en el auto con él durante 2 horas, pero en realidad fue un viaje divertido. Cuando llegamos al LA Youth Day, mi ministro de jóvenes me dijo que me encantaría la banda que estaba tocando porque él sabía lo mucho que me gustaba la música algre irlandesa. Cuando entramos al Salon B, escuché la música y salí para el escenario donde los Jóvenes se reunían saltando, cantando y alabando a Dios con la increíble música de Ceili Rain. Desde el primer sonido, me desperté de Dios y el día mejoró aún más con los talleres de Jesse Manibusan, Mike Patin y la misa con el Padre Tony Ricard, quien dirigió al misa y ofreció una sorprendente e interactiva homilía de la historia de la creación. Cada año que voy recibo algo nuevo en este fin de semana y nunca me arrepiento de haber ido. Si no tuvo la oportunidad de ir este año, le recomiendo que vaya el próximo año, confíe en mí, ¡vale la pena y algo más! Próximos Eventos: 27 de marzo-grupo juvenil 28 de marzo-No Edge

First Confession interviews continue this week on Sunday March 24th, Tuesday March 26th and Wednesday March 27th. Students should recite 7 sacraments, corporal and spiritual works of mercy, and pass a short oral test. Details regarding practices, the communion service and post-communion study will be verified.

ALTAR SERVER TRAINING Sacred Heart Church is inviting all children of our parish who have made their first communion to come to a four-day ALTAR SERVER TRAINING session to be held the week of Monday April 1, through Thursday April 4, from 3:15PM to 5:15PM inside the church. You must complete all four sessions of the program. Come, share your time and talent with our faith community in the weekend liturgical celebrations. Applications for this ministry may be obtained at the parish office, school office,

DID YOU KNOW? Protect young people from cyberbullying
Cyberbullying can happen at any time, on any online platform. It can take many forms – cruel direct messages, threatening emails, mean texts, shared photos, and more. Victims of cyber-bullying often suffer from anxiety and depression, and their self-esteem can be diminished. They may be reluctant to talk about bullying, so parents need to be on top of all their children’s online activities. Asking questions and getting information about popular apps and sites will help, too.
