Spotlight on Christian Education!

During Lent the Tuesday Bible Class is studying Adam Hamilton’s, John: The Gospel of Light and Life. In the introduction he compares the Synoptic Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke to the Gospel of John. Adam Hamilton states: In Matthew, Mark, and Luke, Jesus calls people to follow him. In John, Jesus calls people to believe and to abide in him. Both following and believing in Jesus are important decisions of Christian discipleship. I began to think how many of us say we are “followers” of Jesus. . . after all, we are Christians. But, can we go a step further and say we actually believe and abide in our Lord in our daily lives? We are so blessed at NHCBC to have a fellowship which works toward strengthening our spiritual walk with Christ in order to believe and abide in him throughout our daily lives. The Youth Classes and Adult Sunday School offerings strive toward the goal of helping to keep the Lord present in the many aspects of our lives. Please join us on Sundays at 9:45 to share in fellowship with those who wish to enhance their walk with our Lord. Linda Wagner For the Board of Christian Education

Prayer Group

1 Samuel 12:23: "Moreover, as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way.” KJV The Bible tells us to pray always, morning, noon and night. We pray for the sick, the infirmed, those who are having problems, whether they be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. We are also told specifically to pray for our enemies, for those who have something against us, for those who need to be forgiven, for forgiveness. Mention just about any need of any kind; and it can and should be prayed for and about, over and over.

We pray for our food, our clothing, our shelter, our friends, our neighbors, our families, our leaders and our enemies. Whatever situation presents itself, should be prayed about. Why do we expect God to answer if we do not ASK? Prayer group meets Sunday after the 11:00 a.m. service in room 4.
