I would like to sincerely thank those in our Church Family who have been praying for me during my prolonged illness. Your prayers have been a great comfort to me throughout. Although there is still some way to go and important decisions to be made, I wanted you to know your Christian love and concern was very much appreciated. Howard

I would like to thank everyone for all your prayers and well wishes while I was going through all my treatment for breast cancer last year. I had great news last week and all my tests are clear and there is no sign of cancer anymore. I was very fortunate find the lump early and start treatment straight away, so please do your own checkups and doctor examinations on a regular basis as it is worth it. Praise to God for his healing and answer to prayer. Janet

Thank You for Helping Me with My Anxiety Tiffany, who is in grade 6, has never discussed her anxiety issues with her mentor Glenda. But, rather they have played indoor games, filled in a “Grateful Book,” discussed their previous week’s activities, shared holiday photos and exchanged information about how iPads work. Glenda was absolutely delighted to be given a card from Tiffany which said in part, “This a small gift to say a big thank you for helping me through the year with my anxiety.” Glenda shared, "The fact that Tiffany has now become comfortable in acknowledging her anxiety and is attributing her progress to our weekly mentoring session, makes the whole process of mentoring so worthwhile. It certainly is my own 'Good Story of the Week.'”

Our mentors started back at Ballarat Specialist School last week which was very exciting for the students. One student had come into my office quite a few times asking ‘when is Bec coming back, when is Bec coming back’ and there were certainly lots of smiles and relief on the boy’s face when they reunited again. A big thank you to our mentors Kay Sutherland, Rebecca Unmack, Miriam Gibson, Bob Whitehead, Pam Hayes, Colin Hayes, Howard Sobey, Janet Jones, Kay Tombs and their prayer partners, as it is such a great outreach into our community and helping others. Anyone interested in mentoring please contact me as there are so many students who would benefit from having a special friend in their lives For more info or if you would like to become a mentor contact the Church Office 5334 1882

Seating Trial We are trialling a new seating pattern in the auditorium for the next 4 weeks. Thank you for your patience whilst we see if this works well. If not, we will return it to its original pattern.

Do you like working with young children? If you have some time available every second Tuesday morning (9.15-11.45am) and enjoy working with young children we would love you to be part of the one2one MOPPETS carers team. The MOPPETS program provides care and activities for children (0-6yrs) during the MOPS meetings. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) provides time out, encouragement and support to mums and their families. MOPS would not happen without the support of the MOPPETS carers.

For MOPPETS to run smoothly in 2016 we need some new carers and we would love you to consider helping! Even if you are only available to help out at certain times of the year or month you could be a really valuable helper in our program. Volunteers will require a Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one. To express your interest, please contact Church Office 5334 1882

Are you a mum of young children or do you know a young mum who would love to connect with other women? Why not spread the word about MOPS and come along if you can!! ALL mothers of children aged 0-6 are invited to come along to the one2one MOPS group. Mums can enjoy some relaxing child-free time with other mums as they listen to guest speakers, chat, make something creative and enjoy morning tea together. Children have lots of fun participating in age-appropriate activities as part of the MOPPETS program.

We meet every Tuesday fortnight from 9.15-11.45am during school terms here at the church. $5 per mum, first visit is free.
