March ushered in a new tech era for libraries as many began to invest in new digital services, like hoopla digital, to expand their current content offerings and to draw patrons to the library. According to Canton Rep.com, North Canton Library is one of many systems offering a “variety of activities” in addition to hoopla digital, such as local history programs and resume workshops in an effort to reconnect with the community and to “give them what they need.” Rosemary Lavery of Boston Public Library also tells Boston Magazine that libraries are now “making a conscious effort to add to digital collections” and to evolve “as technology is evolving.” Lavery adds that hoopla digital’s service is a “great compliment” to existing services and patrons love it because it’s “free” and “can be accessed from anywhere.”
