EBPL Digital Resources: Hoopla Hoopla Creating an Account

1. Visit www.ebpl.org and click on Hoopla under Digital Resources on the

Explore tab, or go directly to www.hoopladigital.com.

2. On the Hoopla main page, click Get Started.

3. Enter your email address, create a password, and click Continue.

4. Select East Brunswick Public Library from the nearby options OR from the dropdown list.

5. Enter your Library Card Number and click Next.

6. Click Sign Me Up to confirm your registration.

7. Click Done to begin your Hoopla experience.

Browsing for Titles You can borrow up to 5 titles per calendar month. Your My Hoopla page will tell

you how many titles you have left to borrow. Note: Checkout lengths vary based

on media type.

1. To browse titles, click the Browse drop down at the top of the page and select from the categories.

Example: Movies.

2. Click Categories to view all categories. You can also browse by Recommended, Featured, or Popular titles.

3. Click to select a category. Example: Children’s. Click again to narrow down the category results. Example:

Animated.

4. Click Filter to narrow down and/or sort your search results. Example: Sort Order: A-Z

5. Select your desired title to view a detailed description. Example: A Turtle’s Tale 2.

6. Click Borrow to rent this title, and then click Play for options to download or stream the movie.

Searching for Titles 1. Click Search at the top of the window and enter titles, people, series, or key words. Suggestions will appear as

you begin to type. Example: Sara Bareilles

2. Select your desired title to view a detailed description.

Example: 2014 Grammy Nominees or Now 48

3. Click Borrow to rent this title, and then click Play to

stream the music.

Viewing eBook Titles

1. Search or Browse by category to find and select and

borrow your desired title. Example: ebooks> Popular>

Sorty By Popular> The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

2. Click Read to view the eBook in your browser. Click the arrows in the bottom right/left to go to the

next/previous page.

3. Use the icons in the top right for (left to right): Help, Text

Options, Formatting Options, Search, Bookmarks, Exit

Adding Favorites 1. Search or Browse by category to find, select, and

borrow your desired title. Example: Elmo’s

Neighborhood

2. Roll over the title and click the heart icon (next to

borrow) to add to favorites; OR click the title and

click the heart icon (top right near the social

networking icons) to add to favorites.

My Hoopla/Settings 1. Click the My Hoopla tab to access your My Hoopla

homepage (with currently borrowed and recommended titles). Click Currently Borrowed, Favorites, or History to

access current, past, and recommended/favorited titles.

2. Click Settings to access account settings such as

editing Account Information or turning on/off

Kids’ Mode, Borrowing History,

Recommendations, and Email Subscriptions.
