March Athletes of the Month

Nicolle "Coco" is a student athlete of the St. Thomas Aquinas Basket-ball Team. This is his third year playing for the Junior A Team. I am proud to honor Nicolle of Feb-ruary Athlete of the Month, as he is someone who works hard and has made tremendous strides in his game. If you come to St. Thomas Aquinas at any point of the school year, you will see him shooting hoops before, during lunch hour, and after school out-side. His mindset is to always get better and strive for great-ness! Congratulations Nicolle and keep up the hard work!

Liora has been a quiet, but strong leader on the Jr. A bas-ketball team this year. Liora consistently strives to improve in practice and in games. She is extremely coachable and always tries to incorporate new skills into her game. Liora is a great teammate. She strives to build up her team through her actions and words. It has been wonder-ful to see Liora’s growth as an individual and player over this basketball season.

rives! STA’s badminton team is anxious to hone their skills

Boyko, Mrs. Darby, Mr. O’Donovan and Mrs. St. Amand. Bad-

minton has a short season with games and practices held

throughout April culminating in the final tournament in the

beginning of May. Watch for STA Thunder to make some

noise on the badminton court in 2018!

Running Room Games:

On February 20st, four teams represented the elementary students at the Running Room Indoor Games (former Journal Games).

Two girls and two boys teams, for a total of 36 students, had a great experience at the U of A Butterdome, in Edmonton.

The Girls B and Boys A teams have made it through the qualifying rounds of the relay competition and they are moving on to the

quarter finals on March 17. In addition, on March 13th three teams (one mixed, one boys and one girls) will compete in the Run-

ning Room Games. This time they will represent our Jr. High students, who will hopefully join the elementary students at the finals

on Saturday, March 17h.

Best of luck to all our talented STA athletes!
