President of India, Hon’ble Shri Pranab Mukharjee visited MIET, Gondia accompanied with

Governor of Maharashtra, Hon’ble Shri K. Shankarnarayan, Agriculture Minister Shri Sharad

Pawar, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Prithviraj Chouhan, Gaurdian Minister of Gondia

District Shri Anil Deshmukh and other dignitaries.

Heavy Industry and Public Enterprise Minister, Shri Praful Patel, President of Gondia Education

Society Smt. Varsha Patel, Secretary of Gondia Education Society Shri Rajendra Jain and

Principal Dr. S.S.Rathore has welcomed the guest and escorted the dignitairies to the Software

and Hardware exhibition at MIET premises. All the guests have appreciated the efforts of

students and extends best wishes for their future endeavors.

34 Students of MIET, Gondia selected in Campus

Recruitment Drives In last two months, the current and previous batch students of Manoharbhai Patel Institute of

Engineering and Technology, Gondia witness various campus recruitment drives.

Special initiative taken by Honourable Shri Praful Patel results in campus recruitment drive

of L&T Ltd at MIET, Gondia. In this process, L&T Limited, Mumbai visited and accredited

MIET in October 2013. Later, on 28-29 January 2014, L&T conducted interviews in which

Neha Nalamwar and Ankit Girhe from Electronics and Communication Engineering, Nipun

Gajbhiye from Civil Engineering were selected.

Sunflag Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. has conducted interviews at MIET, Gondia campus for the

students of colleges from Nagpur, Bhandara, Umred and Ramtek. In this drive, Ajay Gupta,

Ankush Lata, Rounak Wegad from Mechanical Engineering and Vivek Rahangdale from

Electronics Engineering were selected.

Furthermore, Triveni Turbines Ltd. Banglore has also conducted campus interview. In this

drive, 659 students from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Sant Gadge

Baba Amravati University and Gondwana University have participated. The students were

passed through rigorous selection process consisting of online technical and aptitude test,

group discussion. Finally, 70 students were selected for personal interviews and 10 students

were shortlisted for final round of selection at Triveni Turbines head office, Bangalore. In

this drive, Ajikya Girhe and Abhishek Hande from Mechanical Engineering were selected.

Tech Mahindra, Pune, has conducted pool campus at St. Vincent Palloti College of

Engineering, Nagpur, in which 6 students of MIET got selected. The selected students are

Shrishendu Sarkar(EC), Rashmi Shahare(CT), Dipika Ghosh(CT), Hitesh Gupta(EE),

Prabhjeet Singh Bhatia(CE) and Nikita Deshpande(ME).

Other renowned companies has also selected students of MIET. Amongst those are 1)Two

students, Bhumika Gadhiye( IT,MIET,Gondia) and Vishal Agrawal (CT, MIET Shahpur) at

Smart Data Enterprise, Nagpur/Mohali, 2)Three students, Pallavi Tata(CT,MIET,Gondia),

Anadi Mishra(E&C,MIET Gondia) and Suhasini Ukey(E&C,MIET, Shahpur) at L&T

Infotech, Mumbai 3) Two students, Mahentesh Kamat (E&C) and Pratibha Badwaik (E&C)

at Zero Point Technologies 4)Thirteen students, Akash Gyanchandani(EC), Adity Bisen(EC),

Aquil Akthar(EC), Shrishendu Sarkar(EC),Sankalp Thakur(EC), Suraj Borkar(EC),Mohit

Kochar(EC),Ankit Girhe(EC), Shweta Lanjewar(EC),Ankit Garade, (EC),Thameshware






Thakre(CT), Rohan Barai(EC) at Spectrum Planning Services, Vadodara 5) Two students ,

Shobhit Katiyar(IT) and Priyanka Rochwani(CT) are shortlisted at Quick Heal Technologies,

Pune 7) Mohit Kochar, (E&C) at IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.

Apart from the successful campus drives, there are few interviews in which students

appeared but unfortunately not selected are Persistant Systems Ltd. Nagpur/Pune, Zensar

Technologies, Pune, KEC International Ltd. Mumbai , Parametrix Technologies, Mumbai,

X-Pointers. Students of 2011-12 and 2012-13 batches also got opportunity to appear in off

campus recruitment drives held at various places and few students were selected.

The process still continues in February 2014, with companies like Imagis Engineering

Solutions Pvt. Ltd and Diffusion Engineers Ltd will conduct campus interview at

MIET,Gondia.

Secretary of GES H’ble Shri Rajendraji Jain, Principal, Dr S. S. Rathore, Head of the

Departments and all Staff Members of the college has congratulated the selected students

and also extends their best wishes for next campus interview drives.

Birthday of Hon’ble Shri Praful Patel was celebrated on 17th

Feb. 2014 Birthday of Hon’ble Shri Praful Patel was celebrated at MIET, Gondia campus. Various cultural

and sports activities were conducted under the annual event EMAS. Mr. Nikhil Jain, convener of

the program along with popular TV star Sana Khan has presided over the event.






National Service Scheme Coordinator of MIET, Dr.S.M.Asutkar, has organized a mega blood

donation camp. The students of MIET donated blood on the occasion.

In the evening Rock band show and DJ night was one of the highlight of the event.

Gondia, Dr. P.Harde, Principal MIET,Shahpur, Faculty Members of College, supporting staff

and other guests were present on the occasion.

Students of MIET Top Ranked in R.T.M.N. University

Examinations MIET, Gondia Students of Seventh semester Civil Engineering Department secured top

positions in RTMNU Winter 2013 exams. Amongst top 10 of the university, five students are

from MIET,Gondia. The students are Ankit U.Mankar (University Rank 1,

82.87%),Harshwardhan Singh Tomar(University Rank 4,81.75%), Surbhi Kumari(University

Rank 5, 81.5%),Prabhajeet Singh Bhatia(University Rank 8, 80.12%),Nipun

Gajbhiye(University Rank 9, 80%).The student of fifth semester Rishi S. Saluja secured III rank

in the University with 77.25%. H’ble Shri Rajendra Jain, Secretary GES, Dr.S.S.Rathore,

Students of MIET excels in National level Technical Festival

at Hydrabad Students groups of MIET, Gondia (Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering) have

participated in Technical Festival, “UDAAN 2014” organized by Shree Nidhi Institute of

Science and Technology(Hydrabad, India) with Vaughn College of Aeronotics (New York,

USA). In this contest, students of renowned colleges such as VIT(Vellore), SRM

University(Chennai), NIT(Warangal)and many others have also participated.

There were separate branch wise competition on paper presentations, in Mechanical

Engineering group the team of MIET, Gondia comprising of Rana Tejashwee, Rahul Kumar

Singh and Mridul Kaushik got 1st Prize in the paper on “Hydro Green Engine” amongst 55

participated groups. Similarly, in Electronics Engineering group the team comprising of Chetan

Asai, Dhrubojyoti Chanda and Ayush Singh got 2nd

Prize in the paper on “Footstep Amperitic

Integrator” amongst 105 participated groups.

The students got their winner certificates from Shree Nidhi Institute of Science and

Technology(Hydrabad, India) and also very soon they will be getting certificates from Vaughn

College of Aeronotics (New York, USA). The cash prize of the students will be sent to MIET,

Gondia from organizers.

The above groups have also presented their paper at KITS, Ramtek conference and there also

the group of Electronics Engineering got first prize and group of Mechanical Engineering got

third prize.

Civil Engineering Students excels in National Convention

Civil Engineeering Students of MIET, Gondia performs exceptionally well in competition

organized by Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur. Mr.Bhushan

Sontakke, Mr. Ovesh Solanki and Mr. Shivam Gour has secured second position in TENDER

FILLING competition at National Convention of Civil Engineering Students, NEEV-14, on

11/02/14. Dr.S.S.Rathore, Principal MIET, Prof.Nashine, HOD,Civil Engineering Deptt. and

Faculty Members have congratulated the students.
