Dr. Warthan is Double Board Certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology; fewer than 3% of dermatologists become dermatopathologists. Dermatopathology is focused on the microscopic diagnosis of skin cancers and moles. Dr. Warthan grew up in Nacogdoches, Texas - in a medical family; both her father and sister are also dermatologists. She graduated from Southern Methodist University and completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She received her dermatology training at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by a fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Warthan has published extensively in academic journals and has been quoted in the New York Times. She is respected by her peers as an accomplished dermatologist with genuine empathy for her patients.
