Knights Group Newsletter February 2018
Managing Director’s Welcome
Welcome to this month’s
newsletter. We have now
changed the layout of our
newsletter to include all of our
subsidiaries that fall under the
“Knights Group” umbrella.
We have now published our
Counter-Terrorism page on the
Knights Group Security’s website. As a security
company I find it extremely important that our staff
members are aware of the counter-terrorism
measurements that are currently in place.
Last month saw the election of our top 5 Employee
Councillors. I am pleased to inform you that your
Councillors are: Adam Collison, Timothy Godwins,
Chris Lord, Shannon Martin and Ze’ev Portner. I’d like
to thank all staff members that participated, I was in
complete awe from all the tremendous responses we
received. I am now currently in the process of
organising a date for our first meeting with Knights
Group Security Management and the Employee
Council. I will keep you all advised of the progression
from here on in.
Yvonne Bryce
Managing Director
Members of the public should always reamin alerted
to the danger of terrorism and ensure they report any
suspicious activity to the police on 999 or the anti-
terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321. If your information
does not relate to an imminent threat, you can also
contact the MI5.
National Threat Level
The current threat level for international terrorism in
the United Kingdom is SEVERE.
What do the threat levels mean?
The threat levels are designed to give the public a
broad indication on the likelihood of a terrorist attack.
LOW – An attack is unlikely. MODERATE – An attack is possible but not likely. SUBSTANTIAL – An attack is a strong possibility. SEVERE – An attack is highly likely. CRITICAL – An attack is expected imminently.
[email protected] 01276 681248
After the recent events in the UK and around the world
it creates a constant reminder of the terrorist threat
we all face. When dealing with a firearms and weapons
attack it is important to remember the three key steps
for keeping safe.
Although the general level of threat to the UK is
SEVERE¸ the probability of being caught in a firearms
or weapons attack is very low. However, it is important
that members of the public are informed of what to do
in the event of it. The “Run, Hide, Tell” campaign has
been issued nationally to all.
2. CLEAR Clear the immediate area. Ensure all members of the public move at least 100m away from the item. Think about where you can hide behind – pick something substantial and keep away from glass such as windows and skylights.
3. CORDON Introduce a cordon to protect the area.
4. CONTROL Make sure no one enters the cordon area unless authorised to do so.
*Remember to communicate information to keep individuals updated.
As always our staff always exhibit an outstanding
performance and responsibility whilst performing their
duties as Event Stewards/SIA Operatives. Their
willingness to assist team members alongside their
positive attitudes and professionalism is always
appreciated.
February’s Employee of the Month goes to Farhan Ali.
This is due to his hard work at Fulham Football Club.
Farhan recently joined earlier this year, since then
Farhan has worked at various venues such as
Twickenham Stadium and Woking FC.
Farhan was recently awarded the Fulham FC Steward
of the Day for the Fulham FC v Wolverhampton
Wanderers.
On behalf of everyone at Knights Group well done
Farhan and keep up the good work!
When dealing with suspicious items, always consider your own safety first! Ensure that all radio’s and phones are switched off within at least a 15 metre radius from the item. Always make sure CCTV cameras are operating within the radius of the item.
1. CONFIRM Confirm whether or not the item exhibits recognisably suspicious characteristics. The HOTS procedure may be used in order to inform you of your judgement:
H – Hidden (Is the item concealed or obviously hidden?) O – Obvious (Does it have wires, circuit boards, batteries, tapes, liquids or putty-like substances?) T – Typical (Is the item typical of what you would expect to find in this location?) S – Staff Action (Proceed with the 4 C’s)

Proper nutrition is a key component to accelerating
performance. Check out our top 5 nutrition tips:
1. Eat breakfast before 9am (daily)
2. Eliminate processed meals, fried foods, sugary
snacks and heat-and-serve foods.
3. Make vegetables, fruit and oats your primary
sources of carbohydrates.
4. Make water your beverage of choice, studies
show performance decreases occur with as
little as 2% dehydration of body weight.
5. Never train on an empty stomach. Always
consume a snack if you train first thing in the
morning.
