Objectives of the project - 1

• The project PRO_NMS addresses research organisations, SMEs, IT companies mainly from

• New Member States (NMS) – Poland, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary and

• one country – Ukraine from NIS to enlarge the participation in Framework Programmes. This

• country will be accompanied by partners from other Member States – from Austria and

• Germany.

• The project aims to facilitate participation of research organisations, legal entities, IT companies from the New Member States (NMS) and to help to establish solid frameworks for international collaboration in research activities of IST.

The consortium will reach the potential proposers to 5th IST Call as well as to future IST actions (FP 7th) from key IST fields:

• Micro/nano based sub-systems

• Embedded Systems

• ICT for Networked Businesses

The workplan comprises 6 workpackages:

• WP1: Project Co-crdination/ Management• WP2: Strategic Objectives (SO) Market

Research (Landscaping) • WP3: Preparation of Standardized data

base and Project web page• WP4: Training and Consultancy• WP5: Brokerage Activities and Promotion

of Key Players • WP6: Project Promotion

Preparation of the Data Base:

• To facilitate management and communication between the partners;

• Internal communication platform for the project team (in INTRANET only accessible for team members);

• To build links between existing/starting projects

Training and Consultancy:

• 2 workshops in Poland

• 2 workshops in Slovakia

• 2 workshops in Latvia (for participants form Estonia and Lithuania)

• 2 workshops in Hungary

• 2 workshops in Ukraine

Brokerage activities:

• Brokerage activities will consist mainly of brokerage events – the project consortium will organise 3 international brokerage events (1 per selected Strategic Objectives);

• The brokerage events will be organised in Poland, Lithuania and Slovakia.

Objectives of the brokerage events:

• To exchange experience between partners active in selected Strategic Objectives;

• To give partners from the NMS possibility to meet potential partners from other

• MS and from successful projects;• To present possibilities to join ongoing projects under FP6;• To bring together the skills and knowledge of the potential consortia

members;• To promote and facilitate participation of NMS (PL, LV, LT, EE, SK,

HU) and Ukraine;• Transferring the experience, expertise and contacts between

successful IST Projects co-ordinators from the other MS to NMS and Ukraine.
