Mohd Yusof, Mohd YushafizalYushafizal has led an impressive career as a radiographer and MRIApplication Service Engineer in his 12 years working in healthcare sectors.In 2016, he was named Best Employee by Siemens Healthineers (Malaysia) for his dedication and enthusiasm in his work.

Serving as the MRI Application Service Engineer at Siemens Healthineers , Yushafizal plays a major role in delivering MRI training, educate and share hisknowledge to the user. Through his commitment to this role, he has helped Siemens Healthineers(Malaysia) improve customer expectation and confidence in choosing Siemens as their solution provider.

Before joining Siemens Healthineers (Malaysia), he was a radiographer at University Malaya Medical Center and graduated with Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging. Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia

What was your first experience with MRI?My first experience with MRI was at a handover training back at my own place, University Malaya Medical Center. The system installed there was MAGNETOM Combi Suite Neurosurgery featuring MAGNETOM Aera. It was a fascinating system by Siemens Healthineers that brought MRI to another level of achievement.

What fascinates you most about MRI?Simply its application and technology...we were stuck with the loud noise, longer scanning time, uncooperative breathless patient, motion, and distortion artifact beforehand, but now no more. We can tackle these issues with Quiet Suite, CAIPIRINHA, SMS, BLADE, Compressed Sensing and RESOLVE. This new features are really exciting and open up a new dimension in patient management.

What is your role within Siemens Healthineers?My primary role in Siemens Customer Service is to provide application service and knowledge to our customers. Starting from basic handover, MR safety, advance application training to research collaboration and business support, these tasks are part of my daily routine in Siemens Healthineers.

What is unique to your region?Of course, it’s our culture and openness of the people in Malaysia, but if we are talking about Siemens Healthineers MRI, the uniqueness is we had from as old as MAGNETOM Concerto until the highest research system, MAGNETOM Prisma. You name it, we can show it...

What part of your job motivates you the most?There is always something new. The learning process can never stop in this career path. New challenges, ideas, innovation of technique are something that I always look for. Impossible might not be your last option if we keep strivingfor more.

If you were free to do anything for one month, what would it be?Spending some quality time with my family is the definite answer for this. My family and I share the same interest to travel around the globe. Starting from beautiful Malaysia to under the Tuscan sun, Italy is one of the most valuable and priceless experiences. This profession additionally gives me great chances to travel somewhere either for work or training. During my travel,I enjoy meeting new people, places, new culture - it’s a great new experience.
