Machine Design Capabilities

When standard designs, off-the-shelf machines, and commercially available equipment do not meet your production requirements, CH2M HILL’s Machine Design group provides customized machining and equipment solutions.

From development of proprietary machines to improving the performance and efficiency of existing equipment, our experienced specialists can produce accurate, shop-ready fabrication packages for individual parts, machine sub-assemblies, and production-ready machines.

Using a multidiscipline approach, we offer a solution for every production processing and packaging need. Our skilled engineers have broad product, material, and machine design knowledge, gained from decades of experience with a diverse group of industries.

Our planning capabilities include complex 3D models of complete production lines for use in virtual reality visualization suites or space utilization exercises. We develop and supply control systems for new or rebuilt manufacturing equipment for processing and packaging systems that support our machine design efforts.

In conjunction with our machine design efforts, CH2M HILL can provide additional engineering and project services, including:

• Defining product, packaging, and equipment requirements

• Developing conceptual layouts and simulations

• Developing final machinery specifications, layout, and installation engineering information

• Finalizing cost, delivery, and acceptance requirements

• Placing purchase orders, monitoring progress, and supplying acceptance test materials to vendors

• Installing equipment, commissioning, training, and developing operating and maintenance procedures

• Performing factory and plant acceptance testing

We are adept at rapid concept generation, 2D/3D design, finite element analysis, and solids modeling. Our technologically advanced software platforms include Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks, Siemens Solid Edge, AutoDesk AutoCAD 3D, and COSMOSM and CATIA.
