EUROCOMMA6018/MA6008professionalmixer-amplifiersofferextraordinaryflexibilityandease-of-useinanintegratedrack-mountablesystemthatisidealforcommercialsoundinfacilitiessuchasconferencerooms,housesofworship,restaurants,clubs,and similarapplicationsinvolvingforegroundmusicandpaging.IncorporatingBEHRINGER’sexclusiveDualDrivetechnology,theMA6018/MA6008ispoweredbytwoindependentmonoamplifiers,onewithahigh-impedanceoutputthatmaybesettoeither70or100V,andtheotherwithastandardlow-impedanceoutput.Thisversatileconfigurationenableseasyinstallationofhybridmulti-zonesystemscombiningdistributedandlow-impedancespeakers,makingtheMA6018/MA6008aninnovativesolutionforabroadrangeofenvironments.

TheMA6018/MA6008includeseightmainchannelsforbalancedorunbalancedinputfromline-levelsourcesormicrophones,eitherstandardorphantompowered.All channelsacceptinputviaboth5-pinEuroblockconnectors(withcontrolanddirect-outpins)andXLR/TRScombinationjacks.AllmaininputsareequippedwithasignalLED,gaintrim,andhighandlowEQ.A setofnineDIPswitchesoneachchannelassignthechanneltomainand/orZone2buses,setmic/lineinput,phantompoweron/off,setmutesend/receiveforchannelmuting,and enableremotevolumecontrol,auto-mixing,and chimeactivationforthechannel.Thelevelofeachchannelinthemainmixissetwithindividualfront-panellevelcontrols.

Fouradditionalauxiliaryinputchannels,eachwithapairofRCAjacksthataresummedinternallytomono,are providedforplaybackfromexternalsources.Asetoffourfront-panelbuttonsdeterminewhichauxinputiscurrentlysenttothemainmix.FrontpanelcontrolsarealsoprovidedforthelevelandtheEQoftheauxinput.

A4-pinEuroblockconnectorprovidesanadditionalinput(600Ω,micorline)foratelephonepagingsystem.MA6018/MA6008telephone/pagingfunctions,configuredviaDIPswitches,includeassignablemuting(signal,switch,orcontactclosureactivated),anassignablechime,and assignmentofanyauxinputtoaMusiconHold(MOH)bus.Controlsareprovidedforthelevelofthepagingsendtothemainmix,theamountofduckingduringpages,the volumeofthepagingchime,andtheleveloftheMusiconHoldfeed.

MA6018/MA6008outputs,allmono,includeasingle4-pinEuroblockconnectorforbothhigh-andlow-ZoutputstoloudspeakersaswellasbothZone2andMOHoutputscombinedontoasingle5-pinEuroblockconnector.The MOHoutisfedfromthemainmixbus,whileinputstotheZone2mix,whichmaybefedtoanexternalrecorderorsupplementalPAsystem,areassignedindependentlyofthemainmix.Eachoutputhasalevelcontrol,andneitherisaffectedbymastervolumeorEQsettings.

AdditionalMA6018/MA6008connectionsincludea5-pinEuroblockforremotecontrol,switchablebetweenthemainmixandtheauxbus.Alsoon5-pinEuroblockconnectorsareBridgeInandBridgeOut,whichallowmultipleMA6000seriesunitstobebridgedunderthecontrolofonemasterunit.Themasterisdeterminedbyasettingoneachunit’sMainDIPswitches,whichalsoincludesettingsforroutingtheauxinputs,theauxbus,andthechime.

Inaddition,theMA6018/MA6008frontpanelincludesamasterlevel(mainmix)knob—surroundedbyanindicatorringthatglowsyellowwhentheunitispoweredandflashesredattheonsetofclipping—aswellashighandlowEQtooptimizethemain-mixsoundforanyenvironment.Also includedareapairofLEDmetersthatindicateMainMixandZone2outputlevels.

MA6018/MA6008operationisextraordinarilyenergy-efficientthankstotransformerlessClass-Damplifiersthatutilizeswitch-modepowersupplies.Theamplifiersdeliver180W(MA6018)or80W(MA6008)RMSintolow-Zloadsof4Ωandhigh-Zoutputsof70or100V.A balancecontroladjuststherelativeoutputofthetwoamps,and aline-leveleffectssend/receive,usedtoinsertexternalprocessingsuchasdynamicsorEQ,isprovidedusingasingle5-pinEuroblockconnectorforbothamps.Each amplifierisprotectedwithDCandthermaloverloadprotection,aswellasbyautomaticlimitingthatpreventsoverload,clipping,anddistortion.
