This redesign of Piazza dei Cinquecento includes the major addition of a cultural centre which will host tem-porary exhibitions while housing the Torlonia sculpture collection permanently. It is intended to represent the fundamentals of Rome at this major entry point into the city. Passing through the space one experiences a strong sense of the layers that once existed, the changing activities of a piazza as well as compression followed by expansion.

An unfortunate fire left a gaping hole in the back of this Toronto residence. The owners chose to take the opportunity to add a small modern addition and to renovate. The deck is an existing structure.

This final project focused on sustainability in a multi-purpose urban office tower. A large courtyard was used to create public space which would draw people into the complex. The project also explored vertical green space and double glazing systems.

The design of this dining pavilion was based on the modularity of the cube and the idea of deconstruction. A series of boxes contained within a single stretcher unpack and unfold to create eight chairs, eight elevated storage units, eight shading screens as well as a long table which includes a cooking unit. The entire pavilion was built and assembled by the group.

This final studio project involved the design of a “cultural department store” which was to be incorporated into a master plan which had been created for a previous group project and is shown here in the site plan. This design looks at the use of ramps as a means of movement through the multipurpose building as well as a way of uniting the community and commercial functions.
