LISS

• Liss is a village in East Hampshire, on the border of West Sussex. It has takeaways, clubs, parks, pubs, schools, a church and a youth centre and many more attractions. There is also a 2-way railway station which is very popular.

Shops

• Liss has many local shops, including a Tesco express and a newsagent. Tesco proves amazingly useful as all the shopping is done here. It has a lot of great deals, like a £2.50 meal deal, 3 big bags of sweets for £1 and a big galaxy bar for £1. It has many other shops such as a funeral directors, a ballet shop, a pharmacist and others.

Restaurants

• Liss has lots of restaurants from Indian ( Madubhan and Saaki) to Italian( Belissimo). The Indian are located on station road and the Italian, which used to be called Gusto, is in central Liss next to the roundabout.

Pubs

• There are also a few pubs, the Whistle Stop, the Bluebell and the Spread Eagle. The Whistle Stop is located in central Liss opposite the roundabout and the Spread and the Bluebell are on Farnham road in West Liss. All of these consist of a wide range of food and drink, two of them ( The Whistle Stop and the Spread Eagle) have a play-park to entertain children. The Whistle Stop also has a Bowling alley.

Clubs

• Liss has a variety of clubs from Crossover to Cricket. Crossover is a hugely popular Youth Centre run by volunteers on most week days for children from 9 up. Also, Liss has a wide range of sports clubs, including football, running, tennis and golf. Children's football clubs are hugely successful, winning a range of trophies every year.

Schools

• Liss has two schools that attract lots of attention from places outside of the village. One of the schools is an Infants, the other a Juniors. However, Liss doesn’t have a secondary school, the nearest being TPS ( The Petersfield School) situated in Petersfield. Controversially, Bohunt ( in Liphook) is further away but seems to be more popular and is considered a better school

Churches

• St Marys is located in Station Road. On Sundays, the church has a club called Messy Church for kids to go to after the service. Also on Sundays, people go to the service to sing hymns and pray. St Peters is located on Church Lane, where people go to the service too. In central Liss there is a memorial with all the names of the people who died during WW2.

Travel

• Travelling in Liss is hugely convenient as it is connected to the A3 which runs from between London and Portsmouth. It also has a train station connected to the mainline running again between London and Portsmouth. This makes Liss a popular place to live for people who work in either city. There are also many beautiful pedestrianised walks designed for walking and cycling.

Scouts, Cubs and Beavers

• Scouts is an after-school club for 10-14 year olds. Cubs is for 8-10 year olds and Beavers is 6-8 year olds. Scouts is on a Friday, after beavers, cubs being on Thursday. You can get badges in all of these. Sometimes there will a camp for all of them for a weekend.
