Evangelization Corner ~Kristin Molitor

Dear Friends, This Tuesday we will celebrate the Feast Day of St. Teresa of Avila. St. Teresa was a feisty, energetic Carmelite nun whose teachings on prayer left a profound impact on the church. Teresa was known for both her deep prayer life and energetic reform of the Carmelite Order. She founded the Order of Discalced Carmelites and established 30 monasteries during her life.

St. Teresa’s famous poem “Let Nothing Disturb You” (found on the image below) has always brought me much comfort and peace. I hope it does the same for you!

I pray that like St. Teresa of Avila, we too would be a people of deep prayer and zeal for evangelization.

P.S. Special thanks to the twenty-six women who attended the W.I.N.E. conference in Alexandria last Saturday! May the seeds planted at the conference bear much fruit in our parishes! I’d also like to congratulate Kathy Ebnet who was the winner of the parish sponsored ticket to W.I.N.E

Father Gregory takes his pickup and trademark hat wherever he goes on the rural roads of the Diocese of St. Cloud. DAVE HRBACEK/THE CATHOLIC SPIRIT

Fr. Gregory was featured in the Sept. issue of The Catholic Spirit: “Catholic Rural Life has given me hope. As a rural priest, I am trying whatever I can do to keep these parishes alive, but I know that I’m not doing it alone.” Helping priest thrive is the focus of a new program called “Thriving In Rural Ministry” which will offer a series of retreats and networking for priests through a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. Their first retreat will be this November at Christ the King Retreat Center in Buffalo. This week, Father Gregory is hosting his second annual Holy Hunt for local Priest to hunt together. He got this idea during A CRL meeting with priests in Texas.
