Small steps
Time and money are intrapreneursbiggest constraints.
Try honing your resourcefulnessinstincts by creating self-imposedconstraints.
For example, if your proposedproduct solution is $200 perperson, pose a challenge to yourteam to design a solution for $ 2per person. This radical constraintwill help unlock great new ideas.Or, set a time constraint.
Force your team to come upwith workable ideas over a two-day sprint. Youll likely surpriseyourselves. Google Ventures, for example, regularly does aproduct design sprint whereit works with startups over ashort period of time (5 days)to accelerate and unstickprojects. Theyve noticed thatoften the best work comes outin short bursts and under timeconstraints.
SELF-IMPOSE CONSTRAINTS. SET-UP A WINNING DAILY ROUTINE.
Most intrapreneurs can seeschedules and routines asa spoiler to their passion.Setting-up a winning dailyroutine is what separatessuccessful entrepreneurs/intrapreneurs from the pack, according to recent studies.
Setting 10-20 minutes asideevery day, at the same time towork on your project or prototypewill make all the difference.

Bigger steps
Field observation is a powerfullearning tool. Take a field trip toIndia, for example, and captureexamples of hacks in action. Ifyour budget doesnt stretch thisfar, get out locally, and see whatyou can find.
Social entrepreneurs area rich source of ideas forresourcefulness so get outand talk to some of these folks.
When GSK was looking todevelop more affordablepricing on its medicines, forexample, the company lookedat social enterprise models inthe healthcare space to gaugewhat more nimble playerswere doing to provide accessibleand affordable product inemerging markets.
OBSERVE HACKS IN THE FIELD
JOIN A HACKATHON
Instead of using a PowerPointfor your next big pitch to seniormanagement, use a prototype.Think of how you can get thesedecision makers to experienceyour future reality throughvisuals, artifacts and experiences.
Do you have a product thatwill change the nature of finance?Or disrupt food delivery?Show people what thatalternative reality looks like.
Sometimes new ventures
can feel like science fiction, soimmerse people in the world youare trying to create to make thingsall the more real and concrete.
USE A PROTOTYPE FOR YOUR NEXT PITCH
Most communities now haveweekend or evening hackathonevents at which you will typicallyfind prototyping experts. The best way to learnprototyping is to sit and observeothers who are doing it.
Last summer, for example,Frog Design hosted a ReinventBusiness Hackathon with theaim of developing new tools toreconnect business with societysneeds. More than 150 people gaveup their weekend to participate.

Over the past five years we have soughtto make social intrapreneurship partof the formula for how we think aboutchanging the world. Our initial foraysinto the field began with John Elkingtonin The Social Intrapreneur A FieldGuide for Corporate Changemakers.
Building on this initial study,we stepped out and rallied greaterinstitutional support to invest in thecreation of a network for corporatechangemakers. In the Fall of 2012,The League of Intrapreneurs was bornwith support from Ashoka, Accenture, the Inter-American InvestmentCorporation, GlaxoSmithKline,Standard Chartered, Virgin and anumber of other partners.
The Cubicle Warriors Toolkit grows
out of our experiences working in thetrenches with leading change-agentsat large institutions. The creation of thistoolkit would not have been possiblewithout input from leading expertsand practitioners, including membersof the League of Intrapreneuers.
We would especially like to thank:Gib Bullochat Accenture andRosario Londono at the Inter-American Investment Corporationfor their support in helping us growthis community and contributing tothe mounting canon of knowledge inservice of social intrapreneruship.

Over the coming decades,an accelerating pace of change
will test the resilience of every
society, organization andindividual. The balance ofpromise and peril confrontingany particular organization
will depend on its capacityfor adaptation. Hence, the
most important question forany company is this: are wechanging as fast as the worldaround us?
