A Few Spiritual Suggestions for Lent
- Try to attend daily Liturgy when possible.
This may be a little sacrifice and that’s good.
- Attend the Lenten Devotions on Fridays at
6:00pm.
- Plan to go to confession.
- Put aside entertainment that may not be helpful
to you in Lent.
- What can you commit to on your own? Such as
family or group night get-together at your home
for prayer and reflection on Scripture, such as
the Gospel reading for the coming Sunday.
May God Bless the Holy Lent for you.

Ohio Shakespeare Festival is
performing “Saint Joan” on the
stage of Greystone
Saint Joan of Arc is the story of the warrior
saint who hears the voice of saints, and God
giving her instructions to help raise the siege
of Orleans and save France. She appears
unafraid of anything, and with the grace of
God, the things she predicts tend to come
true. George Bernard Shaw’s sweeping
drama follows the epic life and unshakable
faith of the Maid of Orleans, from the
Dauphin’s court, to the battlefield, to the
prosecution chair, and finally, to the pyre.
This professional production will open on
February 28 and continue for three
weekends. Ticket information can be found
on their website,
www. Ohioshakespearefestival.com.

A SPECIAL REPORT ABOUT OUR YEAR OF THE FAMILY & REUNION PROJECT
This project about the Family could not come at a better time for you and your family and for
the good of our Parish Family at Our Lady of the Cedars Church.
Please be encouraged to reach out to all the members of your family near and far and of all
ages to take part in a special day you choose to come together as a family here at church to
pray followed by a time to visit with each other in any way that is best for you.
I want to encourage all families in our parish. If a family is not so big, why not invite another
family to join together with you.
What month or time of year is best for you and family members to make your commitment? Is
there a particular anniversary of a family member living or who passed that would make
choosing a date a bit easier to commit to.
Each family who schedules a Family date will be given a 2 page booklet and keepsake for your
particular day. Take a peek at the design of the first front panel of this keepsake booklet,
The cover panel has an image of St. Maron with the words, The Family of St. Maron at Our Lady
of the Cedars Church. Near the bottom there is a place to print the Family Name for your personal day.
The following 6 panels include prayers and a page to write out the names of deceased members as your
intentions for your Liturgy and a panel for names of the family who are living and in need of particular
prayers.
At the Liturgy for your family this booklet will be at the Table of Preparation before Mass
begins and then at the time of the procession with the Gifts a member will bring it to me and
then placed on the Altar. At the end it will be given back to the family for your keepsake.
This Year of the Family, this year of Reunion in 2020 is very important to me as you can tell.
Please let it be as important to you. LET’S GET STARTED.
