Effective curriculum is at the foundation of any strong educational program. The Lingüística curriculum was developed with the student in mind, designed to help students develop a strong understanding and capability with the language, as well as skills they can use immediately in their every day lives.
The lessons are based on interaction and are organized so that the majority of the time the students are speaking with each other in the language they are learning.
The students use the four main processes of language learning:
Reading•Writing•Speaking•Listening•
Each lesson is designed not only to teach specific grammar principles, but also to teach real-life skills as well. The lessons are activity based, and are designed to allow the teacher to scaffold (guiding a student to achieve at a higher level) the students, helping them to build on concepts they have already learned. Students are challenged to go outside their comfort zone and use what they have learned in every-day settings.
The lessons feature teacher/student and student/student interaction to help individual students maximize their own learning potential and to help them learn in their zone of proximal development (“the difference between what a student can do on his/her own and what a student can do with help” 1).
Because of this, students are able to attain a higher level of thinking than they would if they were working independently. This helps the students grasp the lesson material faster, and creates a larger base of skills for them to draw upon in their learning experience.

Product Breakdown
Student manuals are designed for each student enrolled in a language course you offer. The student manuals contain 21 lessons, each with two major focus points and grammar skills. The lessons are designed to be taught either to the group or the individual, and have been tested in classroom settings.
Each lesson contains:
Lesson Goals•Vocabulary•Starter Activity•Individual Practice Modules•Group Practice Modules•Extensive Homework focused on different skills •such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
The lessons could be taught in class sessions ranging anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes in length.
The student manuals are accompanied by Homework Audio CDs, which walk the student through the homework assignments at the end of each lesson in both their native language and the language they’re learning. These CDs are a favorite of students, and help encourage them to work on their homework and practice outside of class.
Each student manual also comes with three exams (two mid-term exams and one final exam). The exams tie directly in with the lessons, and include both a reading/writing section, as well as a speaking/listening section. The exams have been designed to help test the students’ comprehension and skills as they improve. The two mid-term exams provide you as a teacher valuable feedback as to the progress and needs of your class. The final exam motivates students to work hard both inside and outside the classroom, and helps them gain confidence in their new language skills.
The Lingüística lesson curriculum will be introduced later in this book.
