2006-2007 Lincoln Memorial University Agreements 1/06 1 Lincoln Memorial University/Roane State Community College Transfer/Articulation Policies Articulation agreements lead to the associate degree by Roane State Community College (RSCC) and a Baccalaureate degree from Lincoln Memorial University (LMU). Roane State students receiving the Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree will receive junior classification upon entering Lincoln Memorial University. Other policies governing transfer credit include: 1. Developmental or remedial courses are recorded but do not apply to the degree. 2. All courses and grades are recorded and calculated in hours attempted, hours earned and cumulative GPA. 3. Transfer students who have earned an Associate of Arts degree or an Associate of Science degree in a University Parallel Program (typically consisting of 45-55 semester credit hours of general education course work in the liberal arts disciplines) from an accredited institution are exempt from Lincoln Memorial University’s General Education Core Curriculum Requirements. Exceptions: (A) Students may be required to complete additional general education course work in order to meet licensure or certification requirements in professional programs. (B) If the student has the grade of “D: in a course required in the General Education Core or required in the major, the course must be repreated. The transfer grade of “D” will not apply to LMU’s General Education Core or major requirements. (C) All students are required to complete LNCN 100 – Lincoln’s Legacy and LNCN 300-American Citizenship and Civic Life. 4. Transfer students must meet all degree or program requirements for graduation as outlined in the LMU catalog. 5. Technical or non-university parallel courses are considered for transfer credit on a course-by-course basis. 6. The awarding or use of any nontraditional credit (e.g. CLEP, AP, IEP, credit-by-exam, military services, etc.) must be approved by the degree-granting institution. Length of time for completion of the articulation agreement: Program articulations are effective for four years from the date of original entry into collegiate level work at the articulating two-year college. If more than four years elapse, the agreement in place at that time will determine the student's status. Students will have an additional four years at LMU to complete the undergraduate curriculum. If more than four years lapse, the LMU curriculum in place at that time will determine the student's status. The articulation agreement must be completed prior to admission (or readmission) to LMU in any classification (degree, non-degree, visiting).

Transfer/Articulation Policies Articulation agreements lead to the associate degree by Roane State Community College (RSCC) and a Baccalaureate degree from Lincoln Memorial University (LMU). Roane State students receiving the Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree will receive junior classification upon entering Lincoln Memorial University. Other policies governing transfer credit include:

    1. Developmental or remedial courses are recorded but do not apply to the degree.

    2. All courses and grades are recorded and calculated in hours attempted, hours earned and cumulative GPA.

    3. Transfer students who have earned an Associate of Arts degree or an Associate of Science degree in a University Parallel Program (typically consisting of 45-55 semester credit hours of general education course work in the liberal arts disciplines) from an accredited institution are exempt from Lincoln Memorial Universitys General Education Core Curriculum Requirements. Exceptions: (A) Students may be required to complete additional general education course work in order to meet licensure or certification requirements in professional programs. (B) If the student has the grade of D: in a course required in the General Education Core or required in the major, the course must be repreated. The transfer grade of D will not apply to LMUs General Education Core or major requirements. (C) All students are required to complete LNCN 100 Lincolns Legacy and LNCN 300-American Citizenship and Civic Life.

Length of time for completion of the articulation agreement:

Program articulations are effective for four years from the date of original entry into collegiate level work at the articulating two-year college.
