Scanfiber Composites A/S is a company with

many years of experience in ballistic protection.

Scanfiber develops and manufactures light weight

armour plating based on sophisticated fibre

composites. Our comprehensive competence and

experience place us among the leaders in the

business worldwide.

Since the company founding in 1996, Scanfiber has grown

to become one of the dominant and most innovative

players in the international field.

Our factory was built in 2006, and already in 2008 it was

expanded to double size. We employ a number of very

well-educated, engaged and experienced employees,

who have the competences to solve any task.

Scanfibers focus is primarily on military applications, but

civilian applications are also part of our program.

Scanfiber makes use of the latest technologies. With

up-to-date and modern production equipment and a

large stock of raw materials, Scanfiber offers flexible

production with the ability of very quick changeovers

and thus solving urgent tasks for fast deliveries.

Scanfiber sells security and our products save lives.

Therefore, we have an extremely serious attitude towards

our work. Top quality is an indispensable requirement

in all phases of production. We develop new products

ourselves, but we also offer to be sparring partners for

customers with special demands.

Confidentiality is a decisive parameter in our line of

business, and Scanfiber key personnel are classified to

NATO Secret.

Modern Production Equipment

In a company where custom-designed solutions

play an important part, it is necessary to possess

production equipment, which is both flexible and

modern, and capable of solving all tasks.

At Scanfiber we have state-of-the-art technology at our

disposal. For instance we have invested in a customized

4000 tons high pressure press, which is the core of our

production equipment. The pressing capacity enables

Scanfiber to produce sophisticated fibre composites of

e.g. polyethylene and rubberized aramid, which requires

an exact control of the production process.

The production equipment also includes a special 5-axis

water jet cutting machine with cutting angles up to 45°.

This machine adds an extra dimension to production

flexibility and secures the ballistic properties of the

various materials through a perfect cutting by means of

the cold water jet cutting process.

For solutions at a higher level of threats, a combination of

technical ceramics and/or ballistic steel and fibre compos-

ites are used. To ensure optimum performance between

the materials, these are glued together under vacuum.

Scanfiber flexibility is emphasized by the fact that we

keep a large stock of raw materials and have a dedicated

staff, who know the importance of a quick response time

without compromising on top quality.

Scanfiber advanced fibre composites are made

of high strength fibres and thermoplastics

(matrix), which - via a heat pressing process -

are transformed into an extremely strong and

light weight ballistic protection against projectiles

and fragments.

Thus the core of our production is high performance fi-

bre based composites, e.g. fibre glass, aramid fibres or

polyethylene fibres, which in combination with high qual-

ity ceramic and/or ballistic steel provide for best available

technology.

Since our products are given only one chance to prove

their worth and have been developed to protect and save

lives, we have brought extra focus into maintaining and

increasing the quality level of our products. This is why we

only use the very best materials available on the market.

The research- and development department keeps itself

up-to-date on a continuous basis on new materials, which

are applicable for ballistic protection, and evaluation of

new materials and material combinations are continu-

ously carried out in order to find new and effective light

weight solutions.

cleared to leave the company, Scanfiber performs a very

strict end control of the products.

All parts of the processes are documented, and we offer

the customer full traceability of the products delivered.

Scanfiber documentation demonstrates that we deliver

professional products of the highest quality.

All our ballistic solutions are tested and certified accord-

ing to international standards by independent test

institutes - the most highly recognized test institutes

in Europe.

Scanfiber is certified according to ISO 9001 by Bureau

Veritas Certification.

practically every product leaving the company has

been developed and manufactured in close coop-

eration with the customer.

The starting point for Scanfiber is fulfilling of customers

requirements. Scanfiber emphasizes close contact to our

customers. Through the extensive expertise and experi-

ence of our employees within high-tech ballistics, we are

able to advise and support our customers in the best way

and ensure an optimum coherence between costs and

needs. Sparring with the customer from the initial idea to

the finished product is absolutely essential.

The Scanfiber research- and development depart-

ment has vast experience in ballistic- and blast

impact, and always stays at the cutting edge of

the developments of new materials and keeps

abreast of the world situation, which may influ-

ence the need for new products.

The development of new products is mainly divided into

three directions:

• Customized development projects, where the projects

are typically made in cooperation between Scanfiber

and the customer.

• Internal development projects, where Scanfiber

develops new products on basis of our competences

and experiences.

• Updating of existing products, where Scanfiber im-

proves already existing and known solutions, e.g. with

regard to price, process, thickness, weight, use of new

raw materials etc.

In addition Scanfiber also performs design projects. These

are always solved in close cooperation with the customer

in order to secure correct mobility and functionality of the

end product.

Total armouring solutions for vehicles

Scanfiber offers total solutions for armouring of

vehicles by developing and manufacturing armour

plating according to customer requirements.

Scanfibers light weight products guarantee optimum

protection of personnel and equipment. Using our light

weight protection solutions, instead of traditional steel

solutions, will reduce wear on the vehicle and fuel

consumption, while operational radius, load-carrying

capacity, and mobility are kept at level with the vehicle´s

standard properties.

Scanfibers light weight protection solutions are

in particular applicable for ships and helicopters,

because the weight factor – by means of these

kinds of transportation - is of paramount impor-

tance.

With Scanfibers ballistic protection solutions it is possible

to upgrade ships and helicopters to high levels of

protection by installing only a minimum of extra weight

and thereby maintain the load-carrying capacity, opera-

tional radius, etc.

Scanfiber cooperates with a very wide range of

customers, military as well as civilian.

Our customers include military units all over the world,

such as e.g. Army units, Special Forces, Navy and Air

Forces and producers of military equipment.

Our customers also include many civilians, such as

e.g. ministries, manufacturers of Cash in Transits, VIP

vehicles and other commercial vehicles.

Cold Sejl is a Danish company with comprehensive knowledge and great experience in manufacturing of both military and civil

items in PVC tarpaulin and other tarpaulin type materials. Our experienced staff and modern machinery makes us capable of

handling many various tasks and as such, we do take on many special assignments.

Cold Sejl is located in Hirtshals in the Northern of Jutland, only a few minutes drive from the powerful North Sea. The geo-

graphical location has made elements like quality, strength and power the philosophy and ideology from the very beginning.

Since Cold Sejl was founded in 1992 it has grown considerably. In 2001 a new 1000m² factory was build, and in 2008 the facto-

ry was extended with further 1000m² stock facility, providing Cold Sejl with the possibility of handling even very large projects.

Cold Sejl is established in Bangladesh, and work in close collaboration with a Bangladeshi company.

Cold Sejl manufactures a wide variety of military products such as e.g. tarpaulins for military

trucks and vehicles, other special military designed tarpaulins, military tents etc.

In Bangladesh we have the possibility of manufacturing military clothing and equipment such

as e.g. military clothing for soft protection.

Scanfiber has vast experience in developing, de-

signing and manufacturing ballistic protection

solutions for civilian applications, such as soft

skinned vehicles and Cash-in-Transit vehicles.

In addition to low weight, Scanfibers protection solu-

tions are characterized by being very easy to install and

are also a low cost and effective alternative to traditional

armouring of vehicles.

Furthermore, Scanfiber develops and manufactures

ballistic protection solutions for buildings. These solutions

protect both against ammunition and IEDs (Improvised

Explosive Devices). The products are characterized by

being cost effective and easy to handle and install.
