Paradise in my Heart, Class 9 2

Introduction We are learning about Allah through His names and attributes. When we know about Allah it

is as if we are living in Paradise in this life.

We will continue talking about understanding the Ability and Power of Allah.


Power and Ability of Allah

! One of the most powerful attributes of Allah is that He will do everything with the

means. We must remember that behind every means is the power of Allah

" Example: Water is the means for life

! Not everything will be with means. Allah will do certain things without means

" Example: Creation of Prophet Isa A.S (Jesus)

! Allah will make certain things happen contrary to the means.

" Example: Characteristic of fire is to burn but Allah made the fire to be cool for

Ibrahim A.S

Therefore we must not rely on the means and we need to attach to Allah alone. Even if we

have many means in front of us but we need to believe that Allah is behind all the means.


Surah Yaseen Ayah 82

! Whatever Allah wants to do He will say “be” and it will happen. We can see the power

of Allah, that a thing will happen when he commands it to “be” whether it is with the

means or without the means. This is telling us about the Ability of Allah.


Power of Allah: Two different Creations

! We see the power of Allah in His creation. We will take the example of two creations of

Allah that are opposite but they make a beautiful combination.

" Creation of the Water

" Creation of the Fire.

! Allah created the water and assigned it the following jobs:

" To satisfy the thirst.

" To give life

" Drowning

! Allah created the fire and assigned it the following jobs:

" To give light

" To cook food is only possible with the fire

" Burning


The human being is very small in this universe. He has no might and power except by Allah.

Knowing the ability of Allah is to have paradise in my heart. One does not getting his power

and strength by himself but he is getting it from Allah. We are powerful based on our belief.

This is not physical power but spiritual power when we know Allah.

Glory be to Allah

All glory to Allah how great is His ability and power


Spiritual Power

! One can have spiritual power when he believes in Allah and does righteous good

deeds. The belief and righteous good deeds go together hand in hand. One needs to

belief in Allah, His mercy, His power, and His majesty and in every thing that Allah is

telling us. This belief is shown in our actions in the form of righteous good deeds. This

is the spiritual power that exists internally due to:

" Belief

" Righteous Good deeds

! If we do the above then Allah will do the following:

" He make us physically strong by subjecting the creation to us

" He will change the characteristic of the creation i.e. fire was cooled for Prophet

Ibrahim A.S.


" Something that is benefiting everything, Allah is able to make it harmful e.g. the

water was the cause of destruction for Firoun and the disbelievers in the time of

Prophet Noah.

" The same water was source of salvation for Prophet Musa A.S and his followers

as well as for the Prophet Noah and his followers

This shows us that if we believe and do righteous good deeds then this is sufficient for us. We

should not think about getting power from anything. We need to busy ourselves with our

internal power and Allah will make us powerful on the outside by subjecting the creation

around us and also by changing the characteristics of the creation. The water was cause of

destruction and it was also a source of salvation at the same time.

! Allah by His power will make the harmful things as beneficial for the believers.

" Example is Allah made the fire peace and cool over Ibrahim A.S.

" Another example is that Allah raised Musa in the house of Firoun.


Qudrah Allah and Sunnah Allah

! Allah has Qudrat and Sunnah. Qurat Allah is His Ability and Sunnah Allah is the way

of Allah. The way of Allah is one and there is no change in it.


Difference in Qudrat Allah and Sunnah Allah

Qudrah Allah

! By His Ability, Allah created the

" Skies and the Earth

" Mountains and the Oceans

" Duniya (Life) and Akhirah (Hereafter)

" Paradise and Hell

! Allah created the above in a certain time and assigned a job to each of the above. By

Qudrah Allah is able to change the jobs of the creation

Sunnah Allah

! Sunnah Allah is one and will not change. There are two types of Sunnah Allah:

1. Universal Sunnah

2. Legislative Sunnah


1. Universal Sunnah

! Allah will bring out the light from the sun.

! Allah will bring the fruit from the tree

! Allah will make possible the word to come out from the tongue

! Allah will make the child to make out from the uterus

! Allah will make the honey come from the bee

! Allah will make the milk come from the cow

The above is the way of Allah in this life and it will not change.


2. Legislation Sunnah

This relates to the rules and legislations of Allah that will not change

! Allah will not change the legislation that “Whoever believes and does righteous good

deeds will enter Paradise.”

! Allah will not change the legislation that “Anyone who disbelieves will enter Hellfire.”

! Allah will not change the legislation that “If we do any good deeds then it will be

multiplied minimum by 10 and one sin will be equivalent will to one sin.”

This will give us the peace of mind that Allah’s Sunnah will not change.


Glory be to Allah

! All praise and Glory be to Allah, How great is the ability of Allah.
