Welcome to Custom Cupboards Library of Color (LOC). The purpose of the LOC book is to familiarize you with the vast array of finishes Custom Cupboards has to offer. This book is also designed to assist you and your clients in narrowing wood species and finishes prior to viewing actual sample doors.

While reviewing the LOC book please keep in mind the limitations of the photography and printing processes. Some images will show little to no variance from an image on the next page. Printing does not reflect the subtleness of

our finishes. Whites and medium browns are especially difficult to replicate in print. We recommend to view a color block to see a closer representation of the color or a sample door to experience the actual color.

Given that color replication is not exact, DO NOT SELL OR GUARANTEE COLOR FROM ANY OF THESE IMAGES! Check with the Library for a sample.

This is a great tool to begin the journey to designing a dream kitchen.

Remember, the Lending Library is a very resourceful tool if you use it wisely. It is very important that you

follow these guidelines so it is beneficial to everyone.

The Librarian will ship the samples to you via UPS. You need to specify Ground, Next Day Air Early A.M., Next Day Air, Next Day Air Saver, 2nd Day Air A.M., 2nd Day Air, or 3 Day (which is good for those places that normally take 4 to 5 days). If you would like for your shipment to go out the same day as your request, please submit all of you requests no later than 1pm CST, otherwise your order will be shipped out the next day.

When checking out a library door, Custom Cupboards will pay for ground shipping, however, you are responsible for the shipping fees to returning the door. If you request to have a door overnighted, you will be responsible for the shipping costs difference between ground & overnight. To get an estimate on overnight shipping, please contact the Librarian.

Keep the packing upon arrival to use for the return of your library doors.

Inside the package you will find a due notice which will state the door sent, due date, and the amount due if the

library doors are not returned by the requested date.

Additional library doors requests will be denied as long as there are delinquent library doors or unpaid balances on your library account.

We strongly suggest that you make a copy of the return shipping label so we can track the package. If you say you have returned the library doors, we will ask for proof by means of tracking information. If this information is not available you will be billed for the missing doors.

Final Notices are faxed out every week. If you receive a Final Notice please contact the Library as soon as possible. If no contact has been made for the overdue Library samples then you will be charged $150 net per door and a credit will not be issued.

If you are billed for a sample, it is yours to keep. It will be automatically replaced once it has been billed. This fee is non-refundable.

Standard Glaze highlighting is applied to the entire surface of the cabinet and doors and then wiped off leaving hang-up in the recessed areas. Brushed Glazing is a special technique that leaves brush streaks over the entire surface. Glaze, in any application, will vary slightly from cabinet to cabinet. Glazing is a hand applied, artistic process and, like paintings, no two cabinets will be identical

Alder

Alder Alder is a reddish-brown to pale yellow wood with a soft, straight grain, even texture, and a subtle figure. Although we hand select our lumber, there will be small pin knots with larger knots possible on the backs of doors.

Knotty AlderBoth open and closed knots of various sizes will be present on lumber and plywood ends. Open knots will be partially filled with resin as a means of securing the knot. Although we hand select our lumber, no effort will be made to evenly distribute knots or those characteristics deemed “rustic”, and their occurrence would be described as random.

Beech

Rustic BeechSame characteristics as beech PLUS will include repaired knots of various sizes, heavy mineral coloring and streaking, which is more visible on lighter finishes.

BeechBeech is a heavy, hard strong wood with a fine even texture. It is normally white, pale cream or pale brown and is often steamed during the drying process to relieve stress and bring out a pinkish-red color.

Craftwood

CraftwoodCraftwood, or also known as MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down softwood into fibers, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and resin and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. The advantage of using Craftwood for painted finishes is that it is less likely to shrink or expand. All Craftwood paints come standard with a STANDARD 21-25 degree sheen, but can be ordered with a FLAT/MATTE 6-10 degree sheen for no additional upcharge. Glaze, Aging (Distressing), Crackle or Fly Speck are not available. The #13, #60, #66 & #67 door edges are not available on Craftwood. Available only in one-piece door styles and their matching drawer fronts.
