1 Module Description

Library Management System (LMS) is the online library for WRD

2 Basic Definitions

Publication: To publish is to make content available to the general public. It is usually applied to text, images, or other audio-visual content on any traditional medium, including paper newspapers, magazines, catalogs, etc.).

E-book: Is a book-length publication in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, and produced

on, published through, and readable on computers or other electronic devices.

Repository: Commonly refers to a location for storage and real or virtual facility for the deposit of

publications, such as academic journal articles.

Circulars: A letter or order distributed to a large number of people.

Digital Format: - It refers to data in audio, video, text, image format.

4 Module Features

The key features of the module are listed below:

4.1 Security Feature

The module has login based permissions and access. It means one user can’t access or remove/update the information created by LMS user.

4.2 Data

The data is the key or basic information that needs to be entered and upload into LMS, the information may include references, manuals, maps, circulars, departmental books etc.

4.3 Search

LMS gives search facilities for retrieval of data. On the search screen the user is required to enter key phrases to enable search. The various search screens available in Library Management System are as follows:

Simple Search: To search the library by find keyword technique.

Advance Search: To search library by filtering the search according to community, author, title,

keyword, abstract and language etc.

4.4 View/Update LMS Data.

This feature allows view and update of LMS Data.

4.5 Browse

Browse feature of LMS helps user to view data according to categories in Library i.e. Communities & Collections, By Issue Date, Authors, titles and subjects etc.

4.6 Download and Upload

To feature enables user to view, Upload and Download the library data.
