It is comprised of all fund contributed by shareholders, retained earnings, reserves representing appropriation of retained earnings, and reserves representing capital maintenance adjustments. Components of Shareholders’ Equity Contributed (Paid-in) Capital Represents the amount invested or contributed by owners. This category is composed of share capital and additional paid-in capital. Retained Earnings Also termed as accumulated profits, represent the accumulated amount of earnings in the corporation from the date of inception less the cumulative amount of distributions made to shareholders and other charges to retained earnings. Treasury Shares Number of shares issued to stockholders and reacquired by the corporation, either by purchase or donation, but are not retired. Treasury shares carry no voting or preemptive right. Subscribed Shares Shares of stock that will be issued upon completion of the installment purchase contract.
