• To love God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength is to commit myself to:

1. be totally loyal to God and obey Him in everything

2. to delight in Him3. to rejoice in serving Him4. to desire continually to please Him5. to seek my happiness in Him6. to thirst day and night for a fuller

enjoyment of Him.

• As we think about seeking our happiness in God, we want to learn:

1. God is the source of happiness.

2. Happiness is the satisfaction that comes from doing what is good in God’s eyes.

3. God wants to learn how to derive our happiness from our relationship with Him.

Psalm 16:11 -

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures evermore [forever].”

God is the inventor of happiness – “in Your right hand there are pleasures evermore [forever].”

God wants us to know that true and lasting “happiness” comes only from a growing personal relationship with Jesus - “in Your presence is fullness of joy”

Psalm 36:7-8:

7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. 8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
