FURTHER STUDY
Choosing BathIn August 2013, I decided to leave my job and move to the UK to pursue a postgraduate degree. Based on the University’s ranking and reputation and the city’s quality of living and safety, I applied for the MSc in International Management at the School of Management.
New experiences with the MScThe best experience about the MSc was the Global Residency. I spent one week at Florida International University in Miami. Every day we covered a new subject, had challenging exercises, worked in groups and learnt a lot from professors. We also visited companies based in the area, such as the Federal Reserve Bank where we saw how bank notes are produced. I also enjoyed sightseeing, particularly the cruise around Biscayne Bay.
Another fond memory was the Community Challenge. It was a great experience because I worked with students from other courses. We had regular brainstorming meetings, shared our knowledge and came up with new ideas. This was all a new experience for me. I learnt different skills from project management to time management and presentation skills.

Studying a PhDI have always wanted to get a PhD and pursue a career in academia. I applied for the PhD programme at Bath because I was attracted by the academic community at the School of Management and the exciting research they were undertaking.
My supervisors not only provided me with the support I needed throughout the four years, but also encouraged me to present my work at international conferences. The University offered many services such as student wellbeing, writing and skills workshops. All this provided an excellent learning environment.
I also had the chance to go on an exchange at the University of Tennessee Haslam College of Business where I worked with Professor Wendy Tate on developing my research. This was a great opportunity to build a network in the US.
Starting my academic careerStudying a PhD at the University of Bath helped me develop skills that are invaluable to me as a researcher. I have been able to engage with extraordinary faculty members, attend their lectures and learn from their research and teaching experiences. Having a PhD helped me land a job in academia; I joined the School of Management as a Teaching Fellow in the IDO division.
Our MSc graduates also progress to further study, such as a PhD.
As a University of Bath graduate, you may be eligible for discounted postgraduate tuition fees.

THINK AMBITIOUS.
There may be occasions where due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances it becomes necessary to make significant changes to a course or to withdraw it or part of it, for example a particular unit/module. Such action could become necessary if for example the following were to occur:
• a key member of staff leaves the University and we are unable to find a suitable replacement (e.g. with the requisite academic knowledge/experience)
• a professional body or regulator/accreditor requires changes to be made to a course or withdraws their accreditation of a course
• changes have to be made to reflect legislative changes/requirements
• changes have to be made to reflect changes in standards set by relevant regulators and/or in keeping with best practice or developments related to the particular discipline/subject area
• student feedback clearly indicates that immediate changes be made to a course or unit
• unexpected low recruitment to a course or unit/ module means it is simply no longer viable or practical to run it.
