EXPERIENCE ELS LANGUAGE CENTERS, PORTLAND, OR INSTRUCTOR, FEBRUARY 2014 – PRESENT At ELS Portland I teach mostly college-aged students hoping to attend university in the U.S., or improve their business English. Each month I plan and execute up to four daily classes in this fast-moving teaching environment. I have received consistent commendations from fellow teachers, students and administrators and was recently promoted from associate to full instructor. Classes at ELS range from classic grammar and essay writing to interactive, technology-based courses and interesting conversational classes about the topics and cultures students will encounter in the real world. CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY, PORTLAND, OR LANGUAGE SPECIALIST, MAY 2016 – AUGUST 2016 Over the summer, I created the curriculum and prepared materials for two six-week long speaking and pronunciation classes for college students from top-rated universities in Japan and South Korea (Bunkyo University and Baewha Women’s University, respectively). EDUCATION CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY, PORTLAND, OR -MATESOL 2017 (projected). 3.9 GPA. Currently working on a thesis on the effects of pattern recognition and mind- mapping on L2 vocabulary acquisition. -Selected by ELS for a trip to Tokyo to meet with Benesse Corp. to workshop improvements to an experimental ESL placement test I had planned and administered, June 2016.

LEADERSHIP-Organized and administered six rounds of an experimental ESL placement test involving up to 30 students at a time, communicating and problem-solving with the test creators in Japan. October 2015 – November 2016.

-Led groups of up to 30 students on cultural-immersion trips to Seattle and all around the Portland area. I was solely responsible for the safety and schedule of the students on trips to baseball and basketball games, skiing, rafting, and hiking, among other activities. 2014-2016.
