at the Belmar Library and Holy Cross Lutheran
Church. It is time to find out about Lois. She was born
in Ida Grove Iowa, and moved to Colorado at the age
of 9 months. She has lived in the Wheat Ridge and
Lakewood area for her life. She became interested in
art when at 10 years old she was at Berkley park and a
man was doing a plein aire painting. She asked him
about it and he let her try it out. She thought it was
something she would like to do but she did not start
painting until her children went on to school. Lois
joined MAG in 1995 so she’s been very involved for
over 22 years. She studied with many local artists and
attended Red Rocks Community College. Lois
participates in a lot of local shows and has won awards
at Glenwood Spring Fall Art Show, and several local
shows. She also for many years showed her art work
at the Mining Museum in Leadville.
A favorite artist of Lois is Barbara Tobiska who is also
a member of MAG.
Lois considers herself a realistic painter and her Best
Art Tip is: Don’t Give Up—Keep Working—Make it
Fun!
