Curriculum Information Evenings At the start of the term we like to hold a series of evenings to provide the you need to support your sons and daughters with their learning at Langtree. We will provide general information about the curriculum, homework and support available as well as specific information about the core subjects. The presentation will be in the school hall expected to last for about an hour and is relatively informal. No booking required. The date for these evenings are: Wednesday 25th September at 7pm Years 8 and 9 IF you have sons or daughters in two or more year groups you are welcome to attend more than one of the dates. However, please be aware that there is a great deal of common material in the information provided across the three evenings. The slide show for each evening will be published on our website after the information evening.
LANGTREE ANNUAL SPONSORED WALK—Friday 27th SEPTEMBER 2019:
Sponsored walk money can be paid to school via Scopay. If you are able to GIFT AID your sponsorship please ensure that the sponsor form has the FULL name, FULL address and postcode and the Gift Aid box ticked if applicable.
Please could students bring their sponsor forms into school and hand to their tutor by Thursday at the latest. The forms will be returned to students on Friday to allow them to collect their sponsor money.
Students should wear suitable clothing and footwear for a 10 mile walk, bring a waterproof coat, a packed lunch, plenty of water to drink, a rucksack style bag and wear sun cream.

All Students—MATHS: Students must have a scientific calculator for maths lessons. We sell calculators at school for £8.50 and can be purchased by asking any maths teacher. The model we sell is the Casio fx-83GTX (as shown in the picture )"

European Languages Day next week: Languages themed cakes on sale on Wednesday and Friday, all funds to go to Macmillan, and a Salsa class during lunch on Wednesday! If you would still like to sign up, please see Mrs Warren.
Our Coffee Morning this year will be an in school event, we are unable to use the Community Centre as we have in previous
years. Students and Staff will be enjoying Coffee and Cake in aid of Macmillan but we are not able to
open this event to parents / carers / public this year.
Science Department: Would like donations of the following types of insulation for experiments.

We have put together a number of one day courses which we are running for children over this October half term, and we are also planning a term long “Art Club” which will run from January for 12-15 year olds with Ann Spencer (a local artist and teacher) as the tutor, which will be like a mini art foundation course and amazing training for any budding artists headed toward GSCE's.
Pangbourne Library w ill be closing on Tuesday 24th September 2019 for refurbishment. It will re-open on Tuesday 1st October with an official re-opening on Friday 11th October.
