YOUTH NEWS
On Monday a group left for the fall retreat at camp Meribah. What a fantastic group of kids. We played baby bottle guzzle, Bible verse treasure hunt, wisdom searches, scavenger hunt and kept very busy. We had snow cones and thank you to Janie Craun, Ellen Lee and Marilyn Wilkins for all of the cooking you did. Food was great and more then enough. The most im-portant thing that happened was that Emmajenn Dawson was baptized and became a sister in Christ. We were so blessed to be there and see this happen. The young people were divided into three groups........Lions Tigers and Bears. The Bears won for having the most points scored. Taylor Harding got the #1 girl camper award and Brennon Galloway got the #1 guy award. Thank you to Matthew Hiatt, Aireann Mitchell and Brendan Felts for being counselors. We had a guest speaker by the name of Salvador.

We would like to let everyone know how much we appre-
ciated the use of the church parking for our Band Festival.
From the Band Members at Creek Wood High School.
Lee & I were touched by your generous gift sent to the
Westbury Church Relief Fund to help those in our congrega-
tion who experienced personal loss due the floods in Hou-
ston. Our home filled with 2 feet of water which destroyed a
lot of our contents. What a huge help it was to us to receive
funds a few weeks following the floods to help with expenses
that were unexpected. Westbury also received supplies from
the churches of Christ Disaster Relief that I know some of you
contribute to. Please know that your love for us has been felt
here in Houston. We love you. Rosemary & Lee Martin, Ann
Heath’s sister.
We would like to thank everyone for contributions made
toward the Magi program this year. Last month 200 boxes
were shipped out (100 to Nicaragua & 100 to Honduras). We
especially want to thank the teachers and parents who en-
courage their children to bring items each week. It’s never
too early to teach the joy of giving. We will continue to list
items in the bulletin for the upcoming year.
Thanks again, Magi Workers
Thank you so much for the food, calls, visits & cards during
my knee surgery. We appreciate everything you all did for us.
Love Ann & Ronnie Mitchell
Thank you for the wonderful quilt and all your prayers
and concerns. Christian Love, Kris Bull

A Day in Autumn
There are no words that can convey,
True beauty of an Autumn Day.
The hills are robed in red and gold
A view so splendorous to behold.
While overhead a pale blue sky,
Shows puffy clouds drifting by.
In fields most everywhere in view,
Fall flowers boast of vibrant hue,
And walking down a country lane,
The sugar maples are aflame.
Could Heaven’s realms so full of bless,
Be still more beautiful than this?
