a junior-senior interaction

Senior

Have an open mind , shun the cynicism and fly with the wind, you will be singing every single nonote that your heart tunes, every snap your eyes desire to capture, sketch out every single dream you behold in your eyes, no more altruism get ready for a new ride of life, this life is yours and completely yours. Enjoy every single momesingle moment of it.

Junior

Thank you ma’am! You have clarified all my doubts, what else can I do to make my college life beer?

Senior

The polymer industry is a fast growing industry and there are lots of polymer companies in Asia and Europe. Process engineers are in high demand in the chemical induindustry. There is absolutely no reason to worry about placements but you must maintain a good CGPA. It is a prerequisite to employment.

Junior

What is the scope of Polymer Science and Process Engineering courses that run from our campus?

Senior

It will affect your personality development in a posive way. Since there are so many people around you and you interact with most of them, your personality will be enriched with confidence as cconfidence is contagious.

Junior

Won’t being in a smaller campus affect my overall personality development?

Junior

Oh, that’s nice… The campus life seems cool but I have another queson.

Senior

We have loads of cultural events. SPIC MACAY organizes events where naonal award winners come to our campus to perform and we also had a socio-cultural fest this year which was held under “PRAVAAH”, the golden jubilee celebcelebraon of our campus.

Junior

What all cultural events take place in the campus?

Senior

The introductory session that you have with your seniors is to open you up. Give them due respect because they are the ones who will help you in the future.

Junior

I am really thrilled about this but my interacon with seniors has not been great so far.

Senior

The exposure to different things that an average student gets here is more than what an average student gets in the main campus. This place is best for you to nurture your talent, learn and excel in things you are mediocre at. You can also learn frfrom your seniors.

Junior

Can you tell me more about what this campus offers?

Senior

Students of this campus are at par with those in Roorkee. There’s compe on everywhere. The compe on here will movate you to work hard and you’ll get beer by the day.

Junior

The compe on is less in this campus. I don’t think I will be able to push myself beyond my limits here.

Senior

Apart from tall buildings, fancy gardens and a lustrous swimming pool, this campus offers you many opportunies that generally don’t come your way in the main campus.

Junior

Ma’am, how does this campus compare to the main campus?

Senior

Don’t worry, you’ll make friends very soon. You’ll also establish a good rapport with your seniors. The homesickness will go away aer a while.

Junior

Is it so?? Am I really going to feel at home here? I’m feeling homesick already.

Senior

Oh hey! So you are a new member of the DPT family.

Junior

getting candid with the branch changers

How did you get this thought of having an intra branch change? Its quite a funny story. While filling the branch change form I just filled the top 5 branches. I already knew that I had to be in this campus for the next four years. So why not a beer branch than PP ? So I filled PST as my last choice. Thats it!! I got it!

WhWhat distracons did you have? What more can you expect from a girl... obviously gossips!!! and also my too hecc ragging schedule.. as I'm a haddu! It wasn't a distracon exactly. In fact I have a wonderful bonding with my seniors now.

How did you study for the exams?II read the theory properly and solved all the tutorial sheets before the exam.

How did you feel when you got to know that you got a branch change?I was prey happy. Because I never liked the main campus somehow. And I thought I can improve my skills staying in this campus.

WhWhat piece of advice would you give your juniors?Be up-to-date and see that you are done with everything before exams. And be cauous enough while filling your BC forms :P Enjoy your stay in the campus. You really have awesome seniors. And finally; All the very best!

How badly did you want to get your branch changed?Just like most of my friends at Saharanpur Campus, I wanted to get my branch changed and study in the main campus. We oen spoke to our seniors about it. It wasn’t the end of my life though. I didn’t come here only to study.

HHow did you plan your studies?I never planned my studies as I never studied regularly. I used to aend all classes and pay aenon to what was being taught in class. I think in college, paying aenon in class is almost as good as doing self study. The only me I studied hard was during the exams.

What distracons did you have?CricCricket. I used to go to Roorkee every weekend to play and I got selected for the Inter IIT sports meet 2013.

How did you manage your me ?I used to return exhausted from Roorkee but I made it a point to solve the tutorial sheets that were given to us in class.

WhWhat piece of advice would you give your juniors? You should at least try for a branch change. However, not being able to is not the end of the world. You’ll get opportunies in both campuses and you have to make the most of every opportunity that comes your way. You should also love your branch and try to maintain a good CGPA.

How did you get your branch changed twice?I was happy with the branch I was alloted but my parents were not. Some phone calls were made and I was back in Saharanpur.

What distracons did you have?YYou just can’t study when you have a laptop and a LAN cable in a room with no one around you.

How did you study for the exams?I read the theory properly and solved all the tutorial sheets before the exam. I always kept my calm during the exams and that helped a lot.

HHow did you feel when you came back to Saharanpur?I felt good. I got bored and started feeling lonely in the main campus aer a couple of weeks. I don’t feel lonely here as I have many friends here. This campus is like a home away from home for me.

What piece of advice would you give your juniors?StudyStudy regularly and take part in extra curricular acvies. Play sports as well because all work and no play makes Jack, Jackass.

How did you prepare for the exams?I used to study everyday for about one hour and revise what was taught in class. I used to solve the tutorials before the exam and read theory from reference books.

What distracons did you have?It has It has to be the Internet.

How would you compare the campus life in Saharanpur to that in the main campus?TheThe exposure to different things is more in the main campus. It’s not easy to be a part of the Thomso or Cognizance organizing teams if you’re in Saharanpur. The compe on is also more in Roorkee .You have to work very hard to get good grades. However, there’s very lile interacon with the seniors in Roorkee.

What piece of advice would you give your juniors?LLoving your branch is the most important thing. You shouldn’t take up a branch with the sole aim of changing it later. However, that does not mean you shouldn’t work hard for a branch change if you don’t get the branch of your choice. Campus does not maer as much as knowledge and skill set.
