Welcome to First Baptist Lee’s Summit!
Jesus had some serious nerve! On Sunday mornings we will explore some things Jesus said and did that made people say, “You have got to be kidding me! Who do you think you are!?” The sermons will elevate our vision of Jesus. They will obliterate the safe, tame Jesus we like to imagine and replace him with the Jesus we encounter in the Gospels. May we find ourselves inspired by his courage and offended by his bluntness. May we encounter him in all his audacious splendor!

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES
Family Night at the T-Bones: If you purchased tickets for the annual FBCLS Night at the T-Bones game on August 18, you can pick those up at the Connection Hub today.
Guatemala Mission Trip - Share Service: Next Sunday, August 12, at 6:30 PM, our medical mission team will share about their mission trip.
R.E.A.L. Moms Program: Our REAL Moms program is looking for volunteers to care for preschool-aged kids while their moms are refreshed and encouraged. The program is on the first and third Friday of the month, from September to May. If you are interested, please email [email protected].
Teen Parent Ministry: This ministry provides free child-care so teen parents can complete their high school education. A minimum of 20 volunteers are needed each week. Contact Trish Frevert to sign up or for more information at [email protected] , 525-0700, or 645-1163.
Joy Club: Our senior adult luncheon group will meet this Monday, August 6, at 11:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. The program will be a time of sharing from the medical missions team who just returned from Guatemala. The flower arrangement on the Lord’s Supper table is given in honor of Dave & Brenda Fletcher’s 40th anniver-sary. Congratulations!

SERVE As members of the First Baptist Lee’s Summit church family, we desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to meet needs both in our church family and our community. Here are some great opportunities to do just that. Help with extended programming for preschoolers. This can be once a week with our Teen Parent Ministry or twice a month with R.E.A.L. Moms. See the back of the bulletin for additional information. Make everyone feel welcome! There are 35 - 40 spaces available with our First Impressions Hospitality Team to greet people who are joining us for worship - anywhere from the parking lot to our Connection Hub. Contact our Communications & Hospitality Coordinator, Allie Essig, at [email protected]. Bring people to worship with us. Become a bus driver or let us know if you are willing to pick people up on your way to church on Sunday mornings. There are many people of all ages who are unable to drive but still desire to come together to worship with other believers.
