Our swimmers are having a fantastic time at their lessons and everyone is showing a huge improvement in their swimming ability. Congratulations to our students for such great work. Everyone has really enjoyed the new facilities at Toronto Swim Centre. The swim centre does offer swimming lessons and having these as a follow up to the intensive 2 week lesson would benefit all our students. The pool staff will be able to give you details if you are interested. Mrs Adam has commended all our swimmers because (so far) we haven’t had any lost property. I’m sure this is a world record. We have a large collection of jumpers and jackets in our lost property box. Sadly none of them have names on them. With the arrival of warm days it is easy to not realise that jumpers and jackets are not in the wardrobe at home. Please do a “stocktake” and make sure you aren’t missing any items of clothing and take the opportunity to make sure that names on clothing are still there and legible. Starting in mid-November we are going to have lots of building workers around the school. Some rooms are being painted and floorcoverings replaced; some of our external stairs are being removed and replaced; the morning assembly area is being covered with rubber softfall. The contractors anticipate that they will have the work finished by the end of the Christmas vacation. Although the work will be inconvenient while it is happening, it should be worth it when it is complete.

We are Bea, Rita, Jaimee & Amber! We are from Newcastle University, here for the Speech Pathology in Schools program (SPinS) at Blackalls Park Public School.

The SPinS program provides: • Accessible speech pathology services for school-aged children with communication difficulties • Opportunities for clinical education placements for speech pathology students We will be collaborating with the school team and our clinical educator, Isabelle, throughout term 3 and 4. We are working with Kindergarten students. Our service involves assessment, followed by supportive approaches for students which

may include classroom based, group and individual therapy options. We look forward to getting to know the school team and students! We will be at school every Tuesday if you want to say hi or if you have any questions for us.
