1. Sending an email to an address you create. The subject of the email becomes the post title and

the body of the email becomes the post itself. You can also post pictures this way.

2. Sending a text message from your smart phone. Register your cell phone number and you can be

completely mobile with your blogging.

Google Calendar is a great tool to use to provide parents and

calendar a static page on your blog

To Add a Calendar to a Blog Page: Posting > Edit Pages > New

Page > Title

1. Go to your Google Calendar2. Down arrow by your name in the left window > calendar settings

3. Calendar details > embed this calendar

4. Copy the embed code

5. Go to your new blog page > edit html

6. Paste the embed code into the body of the page

7. Change the width to 400 and height to 800

8. SelectPreviewto ensure the calendar is embedded > close preview9. SelectPublish Page. Your new page should show as a link on the

home page of your blog

Daily JournalPost a prompt or question each day to your blog and students can comment to answeror respond

Online DebateAsk a challenging question or post a thought-provoking prompt and then let students add comments,

arguments, and/or justifications

Reading Response JournalPost questions regarding a book you are currently reading and allow students to respond

Photo EssaysCreate a blog that provides a theme prompt that students must respond to in the form of a picture (ie:

autonomy). Provide a mail-to email address to post to the blog. Then students can take pictures

with a cell phone ordigital camera and email the picture to the blog along with a description of why the

photo represents that prompt
