PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Yard Duty Supervision Please be aware that the teachers are required to do afterschool duty until 3:45pm. If you need to catch up with them, make a mutually convenient time or ‘walk and talk’ if appropriate. KONGWAK 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL A reminder that we will advise of the new date for our Kongwak 100 Days of School as soon as possible. We encourage all students to dress up as a 100 year old person on this day. We would also like to provide the students with a high tea. GRADE 1 VISIT Our visit from the Grade 1 & 2 classes at Inverloch has been postponed. We will advise of the new date when it is available. GRADE 6 CAMP Grace will be going on the Grade 6 camp next Tuesday. We hope you have a fantastic time Grace and look forward to hearing all about it when you get back. JUMP ROPE FOR HEART Jump Rope for Heart is on again. To register to raise money parents will need to sign in with their child at https://www.heartfoundation.org.au/jump-rope-for-heart The jump off day for our school will be in the afternoon on Monday 19th August.

2nd August 2019 BOOK WEEK On Monday 19th August we will be having a dress up day for Book Week. As this is also the jump off day for Jump Rope for Heart, can you please ensure that your child/ren wear appropriate clothing underneath their dress ups to skip in, or bring a change of clothes & sneakers.

All Orders will be placed in the School office / Staff room for collection. Please include your mobile number on your order so I can msg you when the books are ready for collection.

Remember that all purchases earn points for our school, which goes towards building our schools resources for the children to use.

For 100 days of school I went to the Bunurong Environment Centre with Norah and the Inverloch Preps. We had a look at the shells and the bones. When we went got back to Inverloch we did some reading with my class. Thank you Inverloch Preps for a fun day. By Charlotte

Kongwak Community Group Membership Drive

As you know we live in a beautiful part of the world and our township of Kongwak is a rather special community. Like many other rural hamlets, Kongwak is growing and has welcomed the influx of newcomers, the vibrant school popu-lation and the wide range of community organisations that flourish in the township.

The Kongwak Community Group, a bunch of local volunteers, is keen to embrace diversity in all its forms and encour-age greater community involvement. With that in mind our local community group would like to invite you to come along to have your say on what you want to happen within our community, what events you would be prepared to support, what activities are needed and what community groups you would be happy to support. You have heard the saying . ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, well we say, ‘it takes community involvement to raise a village!! ‘

We need some new ideas, some fresh faces, some novel ideas, some enthusiastic responses

We can’t survive without your input and would love to hear your ideas for the future of our little town.

SO…We are sending out an invitation to all our residents, old and new, young and old to come and meet us.

Any idea is worth discussing so please join us for a glass of wine, cheese and biscuits, all local of course, at our next meeting in the Tennis Rooms in Kongwak on Monday 2nd Sept at between 7pm and 8pm
