These will be held on Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th of July in the school library from 4 - 6 pm. These conferences between students, parents and staff will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your child’s anticipated subject selections in greater detail with an experienced member of staff. It is not essential to attend these sessions, we are simply providing another opportunity for your child to make wise choices with their senior subject selections. Production I was fortunate enough to be able to attend ‘The Family Band’ last Friday evening and I can truly say I was blown away by the quality of the production as well as the professionalism of the staff and students. I have received many emails from parents and community members praising the performance as a whole and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the staff and students involved on the effort they have put into yet another magnificent production. Information Nights As I mentioned in the last newsletter, we have our Year 11 2020 Subject Selection Evening tonight in the School Gym at 6pm. This is a great opportunity for current Year 10 students to hear about the subject requirements to obtain a HSC as well as discuss their possible choices with staff from various faculties in order to help them choose the right subjects for them. We hope to see many students and parents in attendance. We also have our Year 9 2020 Subject Selection Evening on Thursday night in the School Gym at 6pm. Rachel Trenaman As many of you may have seen on our school FaceBook page this week, Rachel Trenaman has been very successful during her cricket tour of England with the Australia A side, top-scoring with a very solid 73 from 92 balls in a recent match against England. I would like to congratulate Rachel on her success and wish her all the best for the remainder of the tour. NAIDOC Day Last Wednesday we celebrated ‘Voice, Treaty and Truth’ at our NAIDOC celebrations in the Quad during Period 1. We were fortunate enough to hear from a few of our students who spoke very well as well as being entertained by some of our young dancers and the Clontarf Academy from Mt Austin with their didgeridoo performance. I would like to thank Wes, Jack and Mrs Howard for their organisation and to all students who participated. End of Term As this is the last newsletter of the term, I would like to thank all staff and students for their work this term and wish them all the best for a safe and wonderful holiday. Did you hear?

On Thurs 20th June, KHS defeated Mater Dei in the grand fi nal of the Open Girls Basketball competition. Congratulations girls and Miss Gooley super coach!

Amelia Hanson of Year 11 made the Riverina tennis team and is now off to play in the state championships in Inverell next term. Congratulations Amelia - good luck next term.

Caden Byrne of Year 9 recently represented the Riverina at the NSWCHSSA golf championships in Yamba. Whilst conditions were not ideal for playing golf we are sure the experience was invaluable.

Year 7O REEC excursion

In Term 1, Year 7 Geography went to the Riverina Environmental Education Centre to learn about our Indigenous Culture and their use of the land. Students learnt about the diff erent uses of native plants, the dreamtime story of Gobbagombalin and Pomingalana, looked at shelters and got to feel and experience the warmth of a possum skin cloak. All students enjoyed the day. We would like to thank Aunty Joycelyn and Mrs Scrivener for the opportunity.

Parent/Student/Staff survey

Have you fi lled in our online survey? We are looking at what methods of communication you keep up to date on all things happening. Our app is currently being moved to a new platform - watch this space early next term.
