PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGESRC Mufti DayOur Student Representative Council are running a Mufti Day tomorrow. The Mufti Day is based on the theme ‘Around the World’. Students can wear a traditional costume from any country. Wear the national colours of Australia or another country. Wear bright and beautiful colours to represent the flags of countries around the world. Wear the national sporting uniform of a country from around the world.It is a gold coin donation with funds being placed towards artificial turf and landscaping the area around the KPS sports shed. Which is a great idea thought of by our SRC.School Evacuation PracticeThe school as part of our Work Health and Safety procedures conducted an evacuation practice today at 11:15am. Very impressed with the coordination, sensibility and behaviour of our students throughout the evacuation drill.
Kooringal Public School Attendance PolicyRegular attendance at school is essential to assist students to maximise their potential. In alignment with Department policy; schools in partnership with parents, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students. All students who are enrolled at school, regardless of their age, are expected to attend school whenever instruction is provided. It is a mandatory requirement that we provide a link to the Departments policy regarding attendance. The link to the policy is provided below.https://education.nsw.gov.au/policy-library/policies/school-attendance-policy.Staff Movements in 2018I would like to acknowledge our staff and notify parents of staff movements in 2018.Mr Kerr, Mrs Macleod, Mrs Edmunds will not be at our school next year. Mrs Edmunds has been successful in gaining a permanent teaching appointment at Turvey Park Public School. Mr Kerr will be relocating to the coast and Mrs Macleod will be moving back closer to family at Inverell. Mrs Redfern will be on maternity leave at the start of next year but will be returning by the start of Term 3. Also Mrs Lean our Defence Support Transition Officer will be relinquishing her position at the end of this year. I’d like to acknowledge the incredible support and professionalism of the staff listed, you will be sorely missed, however we wish you well in your ventures next year.

If your child is involved in this evening, they will receive a permission note with details of requirements for the rehearsal and the evening.

P&C NEWSThere are no more P&C events for 2017! The P&C would like to thank all the parents, carers and teachers that supported P&C events throughout 2017. Your help has been very much appreciated.
The P&C would welcome your continued support in 2018. Not everyone wants to have a committee position but everyone has the opportunity to have a say, so please join us to ensure your voice is head.
P&C Meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month commencing at 7pm in the school staffroom. All welcome to attend. It is an opportunity to be involved in the school community, meet school staff and parents and raise funds to benefit the school and students. All are welcome to attend.
