I hope you are having a great lent so far. Our
council sure has had a great and busy one so far.
Thanks to everyone to has helped out with all of
our meals. The pasta dinner was a great
success, serving over 100 people, and we made
a great impression on the State officers that
were there. And thanks to those hardy soles
who cooked pancakes at 4am on Mardi Gras.
Then we have our fish fries, our largest fund
raiser of the year. The first fish fry went well,
and we’re already in the black. We still have 5
more fish fries to go, so we’ll still need lots of
help every week. And remember to invite
anyone and everyone to come, the more money
we make the more we can do for our church and
community.
AED PurchaseAt the Pasta Dinner in Feb, the council
presented Father with two checks for
AED’s. Our council purchased a
complete AED for the church for $1,352.
The Conifer Newcomers donated $1,000
to buy a 2nd AED for the parish hall.
Our council made up the balance and
donated an extra $352 so Father could
buy both units at the same time. Look
for them soon at the church!
Father is also working towards hosting a
training class for parishioners on how to
use these new AED’s.
Star Council AwardFor the 2015-2016 fraternal year, 14479
earned our first ever Star Council Award.
Knight of the Year 2016Congratulation to Lyle Dierks for winning our
council’s Knight of the Year award for 2016!
Lyle has been a big help at our meals in the
kitchen as Doyle and Tom’s assistant chef and
with cleanup. We usually don’t see Lyle
upstairs during our meals because he’s always
working hard down in the kitchen. Lyle also
helps with maintenance work around the parish
including installing the church’s new security
system.
Lyle was Knight of the Month last March for his
work for our 2016 Lent fish fries. The Knight of
the Year award comes also comes with a $50
check, and the Trustees will coerce you into
being a council officer.

Finally, you’ve all probably heard of the passing
of Father Tim’s father. I’d like to thank everyone
who took the time to attend the wake and
funeral. We had a good turnout and Father
appreciated the support from the Knights.
So let’s continue our march on to Easter, and
make this the best lent it can be.

MembershipHelp Recruit New Members!
It’s every Knights job to help the council grow by recruiting,
and all of our fish fries are great opportunities to show
parishioners what we do and encourage them to join the
Knights.
It’s everyone job to get out and recruit! We still need one
Pasta DinnerOur annual pasta dinner was a big hit! We passed out checks to our 5
local schools’ special needs programs and to our local ARC. In addition
to a packed house, we also had the State Tootsie Roll Chairman and our
State Deputy in attendance. We took in a total of $900 for the meal!
Thanks to everyone who helped make it a success by helping out or just
coming to eat! Especially our clean-up crew! Our chefs were
exhausted by the end of the day and were thrilled to see the kitchen
already cleaned by the time they finished eating.
