1. To get the ex posur e of r eal work environment.

ABOUT KMF

Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation Limited (KMF) is the

A pex Body in K arnataka r e pr esenting Dairy Far mer s' Co-o peratives. It is the third

largest dairy co-o perative amongst the dairy coo peratives in the country. In South

India it stands fir st in ter ms of procur ement as well as sales. One of the cor e

functions of the Federation is mark eting of Milk and Milk Products. The Brand '

' is the household name for Pur e and Fr esh milk and milk products.

COMPANY PROFILE

DHARWAD MILK UNION

Dhar wad Milk Union (DMU) came into existence on 3-3-1986

DMU was esta blished under co-o perative act on 3-3-1986 at Dhar wad and

Gadag, Haveri, Uttar Canara, Dhar wad comes under its o peration.

ESTABLISHMENT:

The Dhar wad Milk Union is Co-o perative society among the 13

esta blishments, under KMF. The Dhar wad Milk Union (DMU) is one of the

most modern plants in the country. It is located in the s pacious 25 acr es of

land, located in Lakamanahalli Industrial Aria, ad jacent to the National

Highway-4. It is patterned the AMUL Milk Union Dairy, Anand, Gu jarat.

History:

A grou p of ex perienced officer s, a ppointed by the K arnataka Milk

Federation surveyed the whole of Dhar wad districts (includes two newly

for med districts Gadag and Haveri) and K ar war district. Further they found

out ther e as a need for a milk dairy. They traveled the surrounding villages,

educated the villages a bout milk and milk products and the benefits they

would get from the milk dairy.

Seeing the over whelming r es ponse and unta pped r esources and the huge

mark et the Federation decided to setu p the Milk Union in 1984, known as

DHARWAD DISTRICT CO-OPERATIVE MILK PRODUCERS SOCIETIES

UNION LIMITED.
