Devine Mercy Sunday: On Sunday, April 8th

at 2:30 PM parishioners are invited to participate in a

Devine Mercy procession outside the church. At 3:30 PM the Chaplet of the Devine Mercy will be

celebrated, with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our parishioner Elaine Glannattasio Hurley of Parksley

who passed away on March 30, 2018.

Please note: Fr. Roger will be out-of-town the weekend of April 20 thru April 23rd inclusive. Fr. Ven will

cover the Masses.

One week to go to . . . The Ladies’ Auxiliary Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Live Auction will be held on

Sunday, April 15th

at 3:30 PM in the church hall. Dinner will be served at 4:00 PM. Adult tickets: $10.00,

Children ages 12 and under $5.00.

April 9 - 15, 2018

Spring Bible Study will begin on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. The topic for discussion will be the “Introduction

to Islam.” You will need a notebook and file folder. A DVD will be viewed at each lesson. Please sign up in the foyer for 6 weeks of

dynamic discussion. Contact Trish or Dom for details.

A message from Father Roger to our visitors: To my beloved visitors. As you can see, we have built our new church, however,

expenses continue. We are happy to invite you to join us in completing the “House of God.” If you want to give a donation, we would

really appreciate it. There is an envelope box at the back and the side door of the church. If you want to request a prayer, there is a

space on the envelope to write names, or for your personal intentions. Thank you.

Religious Education:

The final parent class for First Communion preparation will be held on April 8, 2018.

Practice for First Reconciliation is April 15 at 10:15 AM.

First Reconciliation date for Conformandi is Friday, April 27th at 6:30 PM.

Confirmation will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic

Church, Onley, VA.

RICE BOWL: On Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday and the first two Sundays of Easter, there will be a

receptacle in the foyer to collect your Rice Bowl donations. It is not too late, to help the poor of the

world. Checks can be made out to “Catholic Relief Services” or to St. Peter’s with the words “Rice Bowl”

on the memo line. Thank you for your participation in this Lenten project.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

LADIES AUXILIARY: The Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus has available a $1000 scholarship to a

2018 senior graduate. To apply for this scholarship, forms may be obtained by phone from Mary Volz at 757-442-

2628, or Mrs. Rose Pierson 757-789-5008. They may also be picked up at the Parish Office of St. Peter the Apostle

Catholic Church.

Forms must be returned by May 12, 2018. Any graduating senior who attends St. Peter, St. Charles or St.

Andrew's who is a confirmed, active Catholic in his/her church may apply.

Knights of Columbus Scholarship: The Knights have available The Paul Braunstein Scholarship/Grant

monies for the Youth of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church that are planning to attend college in the

fall. If your parents are registered at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and you have interest in

applying for the scholarship/grant monies, applications are available in the Parish Office. Applications

must be submitted by May 26, 2018.

The Msgr. Mickle Council of the Knights of Columbus, Cape Charles will present a Scholarship Award of

$1000 for college to a deserving Catholic High School Senior. Applicants must be resident of the Eastern

Shore and confirmed members of St. Charles, St. Peter’s, or St. Andrew’s Catholic Churches. Applica-
